About fans yelling things at players. Then mentioned Chris Long says he hates it and fans shouldn’t yell anything at players and buying a ticket doesn’t give them the right to do it. Ryen said he mostly agreed but where does it end, I mean people should be able to yell fuck you at players and he would.
Remember, Ryen is toooootally “pro player”, the fact he always takes the side of owners and racist/belligerent fans is merely a coincidence
He also, literally every week, says he doesn’t like to do the whole criticize and second guess the coach thing that everyone does now then immediately criticizes and second guesses the coach for a two decade old decision.
he also tried to make some point about how players are initiating some of the interactions which i found bizarre, then they went off about people on twitter being too dramatic when the owner pushed Lowry. Ryen needs to stop reading twitter so much but then he wouldn't have half his content to speak on. was a speed round bingo of takes also i enjoy when ryen prods bill about his political frames when he said the owners and players are like Dems and Reps, bills a really cowardly enlightened centrist guy and i think ryen finds it funny he tries to not step on toes but can't help himself from sliding his opinions in
Someone please get Russillo on TMB, it would be incredible content listening to him go off on things based on riner posts "And then you have all these people online talking like the answer to stopping COVID is taking Vitamin D so I don't know what THATS all about"
i didnt take the portnoy comment as anything but giving a quick label for the chud section of owners, didnt take it as a positive
i love stephen jackson's and matt barnes' podcast and think they're really good media guys. that podcast was good. *the part where simmons says, "no one would be mad (if you sat out the game until Sterling was removed)" is insane though. i could envision ryen russillo let alone a bunch of twitter people shitting on them for it.
That’s not what he said. He said he doesn’t think he would be yelling at players, but if he was a few beers in, he might say something, he hopes he wouldn’t, but sometimes things get the best of you. This is all with the caveat as if he was just average joe fan.
I suppose yelling something at a player is better than breaking into the wrong condo, so that’s progress at least
Russillo’s right after the draft I believe. Essentially it wasn’t a lodge it was a hotel. He went to the wrong room cause he was exhausted and drunk from fishing all day. However his room key opened the wrong room. So yea he went to the wrong room but why did his key open the wrong room?
The Ringer has run two Jeff Weiss pieces in the last week or so. Hopefully that's a trend, he's the best music writer going in my opinion
the Bill interview with Barnes/Jack was great also the Redick/Shea pod is fun. politics warning in the beginning for our chuds though, they also clearly chopped it up a little editing wise.
Sal better watch it with the anti-NBA stuff or else Bill will have House guessing the lines in no time
Imagine getting paid to go on tv and talk about a baseball game in May and considering anything sports related asinine
how is the bubble sport worse during a potential second wave than a sport that wants fans in the stadiums?
Because I am a sad human, I watched Draft Day last night so I could listen to the Rewatchables pod on my am run. My word what a back alley coat hanger abortion of a movie. I laughed out loud at the absurdity several times. I was dissapointed Mallory and Bill seemed to enjoy it despite its flaws at first but then agreed with them that it’s so hilariously flawed it had a certain charm. Bills horniness in this one over Eva Mendez and Doc Browns imaginary porn collection makes me think the sports gal is not doing much for him These days
Bill definitely feeds Mallory which is why I can’t do any podcasts with the two of them. I didnt attempt the Draft Day pod. I had to stop the Natural pod halfway through.
The Flying Coach Pods with Bill Murray and Michael Lewis were top notch while mowing the yard. That podcast is so good.
Boomerang Rewatch is up. Such a good movie. Used to watch it all the time on HBO in the mid 90s. Bill is doing it with Wesley and Van Latham.
this looks fucking terrible. Also how was JT "ended" after the Super Bowl incident with Janet when he had his most successful, culturally relevant album with TI and Three 6 Mafia on it 2 years later?
i've been enjoying the bill/ryen podcasts these past few weeks bill being seemingly unaware that possessing anabolic steroids was illegal during the late 90s crazy home run era killed me though
i vaguely recall this argument in the late 90s/2000s, that because baseball didn't say it was against the rules it shouldn't be held against them as baseball players even if it was illegal to purchase them
it doesn't really bother me wrt to baseball history. everyone knows what was going on during that time. but when guys are going to mexico or seeing shady doctors to get the stuff, idk that seems like it should raise a red flag. i don't know how someone who has written about sports for 20 years wouldn't know this
People make that stupid argument all the time still. PEDs were illegal in baseball, too. It's documented that they were illegal. There just wasn't a mechanism in place to test for them or to punish players if they were caught with them because no one involved was interested in dealing with the issue until Congress got involved and threatened to do some stuff with their grandstanding (which ultimately led to a good thing in terms of the health of players).
Redraftables have been good. House isn’t that bad. He can be obnoxious but if you only listen to one podcast of his every few weeks I think he’s fine. Doesn’t seem like bad guy.
