So, what you're saying is that Arkansas is testing more people, because more people are getting symptoms, because it's rapidly spreading...
Hell if I know. Not a dr. I just know how hard it was because I told anyone who wanted to visit us when out kid is born in the next few days that they gotta go get tested. The place in Mena is super easy to get into because no one is going but they have it. My MIL had it done there and my SIL has it done at a place in Joplin so they could come down. My parents are going to the place in Mena before they come down the first of June. Am I an asshole? Probably but fuck it. My kid, my house, my rules.
Has anyone else looked at this data? I find CDC’s category headings confusing. It looks to me liked they lumped pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic together in their explanation of Scenario 5, as follows “ Scenario 5: “Parameter values for disease severity, viral transmissibility, and pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic disease transmission that represent the best estimate, based on the latest surveillance data and scientific knowledge. Parameter values are based on data received by CDC prior to 4/29/2020.” But in the chart the CW39.com article author looked at it only uses the word “asymptomatic”. I caught this because several weeks ago CDC stopped using the term “asymptomatic cases”, because “pre-symptomatic” was more accurate (almost all cases eventually develop an observable symptom).
We can't get people on board with wearing masks, I really don't know how contact tracing is going to be successful.
I agree with you, but it probably won’t show up until Monday and maybe even Tuesday due to the consistent reduced weekend data.
Why do you think they didn't at least do some form of contact tracing? https://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programs-services/topics/covid-19-contact-tracing
I agree, and that's pretty typical outside of a few states. I'm in Ohio, my wife had symptoms and was never able to get tested. I'm not claiming Arkansas is doing a great job of testing people. As I've said, the better measure of the condition of a state is hospitalizations and deaths. Those numbers, at this point, are fairly low in Arkansas, despite a relatively lax quarantine approach.
gotta look good for church Sunday! one of my wife’s facebook friends was posting about getting her hair AND nails done. she also happens to be a nurse that has been working the covid floor at her hospital
We had a youth baseball coach in my town that was working a trade show in Vegas the days before the strip was shutdown during their outbreak. He comes back here and coaches his teams practice. He then starts exhibiting symptoms and goes to get tested. Two weeks go by before results are received, and he was positive. No one contacted the families of those that were in contact with him, our youth sports organization had to do it and shut down the league. Just because they claim to, doesn’t mean they are actually doing it. I’m aware of several cases in my area and none have mentioned contract tracing. so once again, quit talking about shit you don’t know.
they got tested a few days ago and were negative and in a few days they will be visiting your newborn?
LOL sorry I should have gone to fucking Arkansas to verify that they actually hired 200 people whose job it is to do contact tracing, have an additional 85 volunteers from non-profits and higher education doing the same thing, and plan on hiring 350 more people to just do contact tracing. I should have assumed they did that, or put that on their site, just to throw me off. My bad. I'm emailing them now to tell then that you know a guy that never got called.
So I’ve been rotating bandanas that I wash and make into masks at home. But I finally got a pack of 3m masks. How many times can I use each mask?
I believe some have said they are rotating their masks every few days similar to what you are mentioning about the bandanas
Keep mine on the dash of my car. Also devine don’t wash the 3m mask. If you let it sit in sunlight or just let it sit in paper bag for three days it should be fine
Right and he can wash those just wanted to make sure he wasn’t gonna toss his 3m masks in there with them.
They got tested, quarantined for 2 days and and got results and are here now before he’s born in the next few days. My BIL and FIL also got tested but they didn’t make the trip cause of animals and work.
We’ve gone from federal level oversight to state level oversight to parent level oversight. The same parents who buy kids Starbucks for breakfast and wonder why their kids can’t sit still in class during the day. Great. Not to mention the nice buck-passing.
Trump admin won't require nursing homes to count COVID-19 deaths that occurred before May 6 nbcnews.com/health...
I posted this in the Covid info thread but wanted to share this here in case anyone here missed it. Anyone who volunteered and gave blood during the first couple of weeks of the Covid shutdown, should be eligible to donate blood again. I just got my reminder that it’s been the required eight weeks you have to wait and should be eligible to donate again. I figured I would share as I know they are in need of blood donations.
We are averaging 1500 so even if it drops 500 a day we still hit 100k by Sunday. Nevertheless it will be Sunday or Monday.
If there’s no impact why did the roasts we like to buy increase in price from the typical $16 to $42 last week? edit: don’t visit the site.
