Trying to figure out if I tried one of their beers at the Minneapolis airport while I was up there for business. Are their pastry stouts good?
yeah they do a series of beers under the banner FSB, be a little surprised if someone at the airport was serving but few places there do have killer tap lists
Stone Arch is where I was hanging. Had a lot of time to kill and a food stipend to spend. And they had a great tap list, especially for an airport. According to their website, they have some stuff at that location which I very well might have tried
MSP has some surprises. They were pouring BCBS (when BCBS was near it’s peak) at the generic places where you order from an iPad by your gate.
MSP is a great airport. Generally good beer selection and then if you have Priority Pass you can get some free Surly Furious at the PGA club. One of the few things I will miss from my old job is visiting Minneapolis a few times a year. So many great restaurants and breweries. Was supposed to go the week I left and almost wish I had waited.
I almost always grab an imperial stout or two when buying but didn’t today. Slim pickings with summer coming. What kind of person doesn’t want an 11% hammer when it’s 90 degrees out?
I have to say, I definitely drink bourbon and stouts more in the winter, but I have no problem with it year round. Still gotta mix it up from time to time
I’ve been a sucker for tequila aged goses this month. Multiple fruited varieties, they’re perfect for warmer weather and pool/beach. A lot of different places doing them too so finding a nice variety.
Not sure how wide their distribution is but Energy City (Batavia, IL) is making some awesome "heavy" Berliner weisses (6-7% ABV IIRC). Haven't had a bad one yet between blueberry, raspberry, and peach.
Just cleared out my basement and found the following gems Grimm Sumi Ink B1 Grimm BA Double Negative B1 Evil Twin BA Imperial Biscotti Break B1 2015 BA Other Half stouts (probs butt) A few Fantomes Various BCBS which are probs infected Like a time capsule of drinking
I’ve been starting every Saturday morning since March with a breakfast stout from the box of stouts I started accumulating and collecting but never seemed to drink. Drink some espresso as a backer, good way to start the day and drinking up some of the hoarded shit.
Visiting my girlfriend’s family in the Chicago suburbs for the week. This is what I’ve picked up so far. My buddy and I are splitting the majority of it. Phase 3, hop butter, Equilibrium, Mikerphone, More, and a couple misc. breweries.
Don't usually hang in this thread but been enjoying the Monkless brews lately I would like to subscribe to this newsletter please tia
Headed to Maine this weekend. Novare Res is doing takeout on their reserve list Irush what are the good places to go this weekend? I know most of the breweries there but don't know who's on their game recently. Help computer Note: I've been quarantined and using mask, gloves, and social distancing in public. Will be doing the same in Maine :-)
Well there's always Bissell lol. Not specific to this weekend but Goodfire & Austin Street brew pretty good beers. Goodfire / Oxbow / Austin Street are all in East Bayside neighborhood. Then there's Industrial way with Allagash / Foundation / Battery Steel. Battery Steele makes respectable IPAs. Not sure how long your trip is but I'd do Bissell and then hit up Goodfire / Austin St / Oxbow as they're all within walking distance in addition to Novare Res.
I’m up to close to 4 cases for my buddy and I. He’s getting at least half and we have 1 other guy taking a couple 4 packs of lagers. Going to pick up 3-4 more 4 packs from More Brewery tomorrow morning.
