yeah was really looking forward to seeing it when they got promoted, never caught a match from there though, hope they stay up
Just looking into it, they say Jonathan David wants to play in the Bundesliga as well. Please god let him go to Bayern and I will be the biggest fanboy
somebody tell Bremen they're getting relegated anyway so they might as well put Sarge in for my enjoyment
Did I hear right that Fortuna Dusseldorf’s sporting director is doing the color commentary? Is that normal? Also the keeper just got rocked in the nuts.
wanted to watch highlights of the earlier match up this year between these clubs at Union when I came across some fan made vlog, you're literally walking down a path through the forest to get to the stadium, seems like a magical setting
Huge match day tomorrow with potential table movement throughout spots 2-5. Gladbach/Leverkusen should be awesome and Dortmund should handle Wolfsburg. The Bavarian Giants are 4 points clear of Dortmund in second, but only 4 points separate 2-5. Bayern hosts Frankfurt, who went in raw on us during the Hinrunde after the team completely quit on Niko Kovac. Final of 5-1 reminded me of the drubbing we took at PSG a couple years ago in the UCL when the team quit on Carlo Ancelotti. Both managers were sacked the day after these matches, in true FC Hollywood fashion. I’m hoping the reverse fixture plays the way it should. Something to watch, Lewandowski is sitting on 4 yellow cards. A booking tomorrow and he’d be out of der Klassiker on Tuesday.
My son is a big UB fan. I always thought that seemed kind of random until he encouraged me to research them a bit. Now, I’m a fan too. Their local fanbase seems to be one of the most awesome of any club in the world. Before the C19 we had planned to catch one of their road games in the 2020-21 season. Wanted to catch a home game and visit Berlin, but apparently it’s almost impossible to find a ticket. His first cousin, who is German, really likes BM and was unhappy that his cousin likes the B2 upstart.
22k seats sell out pretty quickly. Union was cashed strapped a few years ago and we played them in a friendly so they could pocket all the proceeds and finish the season in the black. All the Bayern accounts talk about going to Berlin just to tailgate and hang out to spend money in the local shops because their supporters are so awesome. For those who are joining this thread because it’s the only show in town, we’re taking about a club created in 1906 that finally got promoted to the Bundesliga this season for the first time ever. In their FIRST EVER BUNDESLIGA GAME, the supporters planned to boycott the entire game in protest of Leipzig’s piece of shit ass buying their way to promotion and side skirting rules in regard to branding. The players went to the supporters and told them that playing in an empty stadium was counterproductive and would take away from the club coming as far as they have. The supporters agreed and the stadium was packed, as usual. They did, however, play in complete silence as the crowd staged a silent protest for the first 15 mins. Leipzig beat the fuck out of them but they had proved their point. They are awesome and I’ll pull for them against anyone but Bayern.
I’m sending the BM support of UB part of this to my son and my nephew. I appreciate learning about it. A bit of history: UB’s stadium is old. A few years ago it was under warning that it would be disqualified as a BL competition facility. So, the fans got together. Brought in some construction experts. Bought materials. Annnnd, by themselves, rebuilt the stadium to the point where it passed BL/UEFA inspection. Who else does that?
I’ve been reading articles and watching videos on UB and wow they’re fucking amazing. Best fans in the world
You gotta remember that Union Berlin gets their name from the trade unions, meaning they’re all working folks who largely have blue collar jobs. What they lack in funds, they more than make up for in skill.
I’m glad to see all the interest the BL is drawing despite Fox completely dropping the fucking ball. I get that they don’t want to get a bunch of viewers that will get hooked and be watching espn next year but damn.
