I feel like Fox has fucked this whole thing up not highlighting the stories, good and bad, behind the clubs (or maybe I haven't noticed because I'm otherwise preoccupied with the EPL and CFB?). Stuff like Union Berlin and even Hoffenheim are really interesting. Yet as someone who follows the game closely I knew nothing about either until like 3 months ago (in the case of Hoffenheim).
These are compelling stories! In 2007 we visited my in-laws. On one of our excursions I made a detour though Hoffenheim....because Hoffenheim. We’re all “THIS is Hoffenheim?” These stories are interesting and worthy of network coverage.
Seriously if you’re a soccer fan who just loves getting bought out by a huge conglomerate that throws money at everything, there’s no way you can’t love the Union Berlin story
St. Pauli supporters are a different breed too. Club is adopted by punk rockers all over the world. Dynamo Dresden supporters, loyal but
I know people don't like them but I love the Hoffenheim story. If I were rich as fuck it's what I'd try to do to Penn State basketball.
Some night I'm going to drunkenly pull the trigger on one of St. Pauli's "Make Fascists Afraid Again" t-shirts.
I currently have Dresden flying high in the BL with Gio Reyna in the hole pulling the strings.* *-in FM
Fox is kind of a lame duck with Bundesliga moving to ESPN next season. They don’t care what the product looks like.
I know marketing factored into the price but it’s hard to watch Dortmund and not think about the fact that they made profit by selling Pulisic and buying Hazard and Brandt. They got the 2 best players and cash in that
I left Schultz out because then it was like Pulisic + €10m or something like that. Pulisic for 2 players that play the same position + cash sounded better in my head
They keep saying he wasn’t looking but the reverse angle it looks to me like he’s looking straight down at the ankle
So far today 5/8 used 3 or less subs. The other 3 used all 5. Still hasn’t had a direct impact to changing a score line
Right. Just poking that if he isn’t careful Bayern may have to pay money before other clubs throw huge money, with his recent form.
Bayern has looked much sharper in both matches than Dortmund have. Now watch Dortmund come out looking great Tuesday
