Have been at the bike for like 21 days now, so great. Started the power zone program and completed the FTP test. That fucker was tough as shit but also the whole point of it. I need to get some free weights for my house. I miss mixing in lifting and get tired of body weight stuff pretty quickly.
My buddy bought a peleton 2 weeks ago and it won’t get delivered until July 29 - I didn’t know the backlog was that bad
Depending on where he lives, it might get delivered sooner. My buddy's originally said 8 weeks but came in 5.
IMO the combination of attractiveness, personality and class style. 1. Emma 2. Robin 3. Kendal 4. HMC 5. Ally Love 6. Jess 12. The rest (JS, Christin, HF, LH TO and IS). the last batch it depends on the class or playlist. The first group I’ll do just about any class if theirs. As far as the Guys AT and Cody are the two I enjoy the most.
Your post is spot on in terms of riders I take classes on, you just forgot about Olivia Amato. I don’t like HMC - I think she’s annoying. Ally is meh too to me. 1) Alex/Robin/Emma 2) Cody/Kendall Rest) Olivia/Jess
Bike is still fucking broken. It’s been months. I call Peloton once a week begging them to reinstate in-home repairs. My community gym finally reopened so I’ve been using the app and riding some garbage Lifecycle bike that doesn’t even let you get out of the saddle.
fuck can’t believe I forgot Olivia. Put her in Ally’s place. That said I usually just ride to Emma or Robin.
Kendall has been the closest to JJ as far a music selection goes. Olivia's classes are pretty tough, Id put her right after Robin.
Something going on with Emma? Not many new classes from her lately. Loved her Friday night listening party rides prior to covid. Want those back in the worst way.
I hope not. She did a live ride yesterday and is doing two today. I’m doing the 3 pm one. Out of the instructors I like Her, HMC and I think Kendal haven’t done live rides. I am glad they are staring to.
Power zone has converted me to a Wilpers fan. For non power zone: Kendall/ Robin / Alex Emma/Olivia Dont really use anybody else
For me Emma/Wilpers/Denis Kendall/Olivia What is left of JJ Do occasionally/always wonder why I chose to ride with them: Jess/Robin Don't really do anyone else. In my opinion Denis is the best male instructor (Alex has a Jess vibe to me; especially after doing the Last Dance ride where he just didn't pedal for a good 45 seconds straight). Wilpers has the best teaching out of anyone. As my zones have increased, his low impacts are clutch in helping my performance.
Just finished my 4 week strength program. Excited to do the baseline test again. I can tell pushups are going to increase significantly. I still struggle with squats.
I don’t think any of the instructors are trash. I enjoy some more than others MW is a really good teacher. He just isn’t my cup of tea.
It’s true. I can’t think of a make instructor I wouldn’t pick over Wilpers. He has the personality of a gnat. The hardest of passes.
Thread is now the official Boom hot takes on instructors thread. Andy Speer can get fucked too. I somehow hate him more than Wilpers. I’m still furious at Oliver for sending dick picks. He was the best strength instructor, but the new guy Adrian seems very good too.
The joy of Peloton; to each their own. Honestly never done one of his rides other than low impact (not a better teacher on Peloton and not even close; get for some that isn't needed) and his PZ rides (they are so structured they aren't meant to be anything super energetic).
I did the Last Dance ride with Alex and thought he was obnoxious, it was the opposite of motivational for me. Also hated that he would quit riding during it. Mother fucker I’m dying and you’re just gonna stop? That being said, we’re all motivated differently so it is what it is. It probably explains why I think Ben Alldis and Wilpers are just fine. I do need to give AT another shot in a different ride. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Just not my cup of tea. I really enjoyed her Hamilton/Best of Broadway but have tried Tabata and her other rides and maybe it is her personality now but my same complaint I have with Alex/Jess/her which is they stop pedaling and start motivating which I don't need/isn't my thing. Wilpers/Morton/Emma/Kendall/Olivia/JJ are just down to Earth and do the ride with you, seems to be my style. The whole 'swag', 'queen', 'hustle mode' just comes off as trying too hard.
Generally like Alex too but fuck that irritates me. Had a spin instructor in DC that wouldn't even peddle and just dole out the hardest shit ever. Wanted to fight him by the end of class. I enjoy Ben's classes. He's low key but if you push yourself, they can be brutal. Probably my favorite of the dudes. Robin is so over the top but it's earnest (and she kicks your ass) so it works.
I like his music and his power zone classes have worked for me. Wouldn’t ride him outside of that setting though.
Her classes are tough and I cuss at her slow counting sometimes, but they're great. Her whole rah rah, you're a queen stuff can get old but I just ignore it. Wilpers is great, he's just a no nonsense type, Get on your bike and go. He doesn't need to yell and be a cheerleader. Plus he has some drills that are a change of pace.
You do you...queen. They are all annoying to a degree (Jess is way too much for me). But it is a break and funny mostly. I need a laugh in these times and I respect the energy and hustle. The professionalism and sound tracks are pretty damn good IMO.
I’m going to stereotype right quick . Before I got my bike the whole rah rah thing is what I thought spin classes were going to be like. I am sure as a whole the community is into that. I’m not going to lie but I’ve needed it a couple of times. I like their classes because they are almost always tough.
Yeah the times when I am not feeling like riding I tend to go to her/Jess (not really much of the time). For tough rides when I am feeling the ride I just go to Jennifer Jacobs/Olivia. Jacobs was just insane and I think the hardest instructor they have had.
I get it. We all need motivation every now and then. A lot of her classes are hard as hell. Most of the time I just wanna get on, grind with your head down, knock it out and be done. And then sometimes I just wanna stare a Jess' warlocks. Im a simple man with simple tastes.
Lol I can’t believe you like Andy. He is a fucking disaster. If I could take his classes on mute, I’d be ok with him, but I just can’t with him. Have you taken an Adrian strength class? He’s good.
Andy is goofy as hell but in a charming way. He doesn't seem to take himself that seriously. Alex does but I don't hate him or anything. Who is Adrian again? Emma and Jess Simms are my jams.
I took him today and am already feeling it tonight. Normally takes a day to set in, will be taking his classes in the future. Speers workout was good but his attitude was too cringe worthy for me, are any of the female strength instructors worth a try?
