My local store got a case in and still had some as of yesterday. $230 though. That’s an awful lot for Dickel if you don’t like that flavor profile.

That’s great. My guy keeps wanting to charge me $69 and that’s a no when the EC BP is $59.

Ya ecbp is $59 here at my main go to and has been forever. One store bumped it to $64 and the other $89. I don’t think anyone other than me buys it at my main store and most customers there probably look at larceny for $22 and say no thanks to barrel proof.

So 7 days into this experiment. They said 5 days was the max. Frankly, I think it has gotten better and better every day, and even after the 5 days. What was an overpowering ethanol nose is now much more complex and enjoyable. The flavors are also much better blended than they were previously where it was all corn all the time. Now you get oak, pepper, and a touch of vanilla balancing out the corn. It is definitely better and I am going to continue to double down and age it more.

I honestly still don't like it very much. It's definitely better, but it had a long way to go. That is why i am doing this. Once this batch is done I will send out some samples.

It says I can. This is not actually a barrel. It is a container made out of charred white oak wood. It is pretty fancy looking and well made. That said, I would assume each thing you add to it is going to impact the flavor of the next.

So I just pulled the archives out of the oak after 9 days. It is definitely a solid drink now compared to when it went in the bottle. I do like it much better. The couple of extra days has made a nice difference bringing out some fruit flavors. I was also surprised by how much darker it got as well as how much I sampled or how much evaporated. Thought I would have a lot more than that.

there is always a MSRP. once the bottle has been sitting on a store shelf for years past when it was released, you know it's not being sold for MSRP.

Dickel has someone on the payroll
That flinstone profile is too overpowering. I’d rather drink Dickel 9 year sour mash that has waaaay less of that taste and is a fraction of the cost.

I’ll revisit it again in a few months but I had a pour down to its shoulders and couldn’t get into it.

Anyone know anything about a 15 year old bourbon from Filibuster Distillery? It’s at a silent auction a local restaurant is doing to raise money for employees but I haven’t heard of it. Here’s the description:

“Filibuster was successful in sourcing one of the few barrels left from the Seagram Distillery in Indiana. This Single barrel straight Bourbon Whiskey comes in at 114 proof.”

There’s also a 3 pack from Law’s Whiskey House out of Colorado.
