Yeah, it seems like you're doing everything you can to avoid the obvious answer that politics is how we determine what is a crime. Politicians codify things into laws. This is civics 101
empowering people to feel comfortable reporting crimes (that often go unreported) like rape/domestic violence/etc is a good thing. But I doubt he's talking about that

Right. Those should be reported. Stuff like drug deals is stupid because a) it's easy to mistake them for something else b) it's not a "crime" that generally effects the community at-large and c) a lot of the times it's for marijuana, which shouldn't even be illegal anyway. I've called the police twice in my life. First time came when I called 911 after seeing someone veer into the median on the highway in front of me and crash into it. The second came when I saw a drunk driver outside my apartment crash into a palm tree, then a parked car, then kept driving down the road. The first was to make sure the person in the accident was OK; the second was to try to prevent the driver from continuing to drive and possibly putting other people in danger.

If I’m being honest....he seemed like a normal kid (actually went to middle and high school with him). Think he’s deteriorated and got radicalized online. His Facebook page was filled with MAGA shit, conspiracy theories and other unintelligent bull shit. A lot of his classmates (I was a grade younger) are ripping him to pieces. A lot of confusion and shock.

One of the Minneapolis radio stations had a local attorney on earlier today, and he thought that 2nd degree murder would be easier to prove than 3rd degree murder in this case given the way the 3rd degree murder statute is worded. Specifically, proving the 'evincing a deranged mind' portion of the statute. Also, he said it would be easier to charge the other three officers as an accessory to Chauvin if Chauvin is charged with 2nd degree murder as opposed to the 3rd degree.

One of the newer videos show the arrested officer w one knee on the neck and one in the middle of the back. Other 2 officers seem to have both of their knees on him too.
