Starting to lean towards a Pelagos vs BB58... wears much smaller than you'd expect & love the matte ceramic bezel
It sick. Titanium too so you will maximize hand speed when you have to throw a haymaker and knock a motherfucker out.
Can u not I am really really trying not to buy anything. I'm at the point now where I am not sure how much use I have for an inexpensive-moderately priced watch, meaning if I do fold under the pressure and buy something, it's probably going to be expensive and I really should not do that.
https://www.crownandcaliber.com/products/nomos-orion-301-10-10-nom-xy9kce Going to go see how this wears on my wrist. Seems like the pricing is in line with what I’ve seen on Chrono24. Thoughts? Jorts Jorts Jorts
Do you know your wrist circumference? That watch is 35mm diameter which is very small by today's standards, but the lug to lug is 44.5 which is long for the case size, so it will wear larger than the 35mm diameter would suggest. If you had wrists on the smaller side I would say it could be a very nice option.
I do have small wrists (especially in comparison to my wiener, which I swear is really big,) and the lug design is specifically why I want to check it out. Ultimately I dig the form/function Bauhaus style for a dress watch. It seems Nomos is just a better watch, and thus a less bad investment than picking up a Junghaus.
Chrono24 also has a “Try It On” under the watch photos so you can estimate how it looks on your wrist.
Pelagos unless we're talking the Trilogy 1957 which is one of my favorite watches ever next to the speedy pro. https://www.adpatina.com/explorer-ii-1 Picked up #626 for my new home office.
I have started a very preliminary search for a F.P. Journe Octa Zodiaque. They produced 150 of them and they are no longer on sale. However, I see them pop up occasionally. I'm going to use my authorized Journe dealer contact first to see what he can find.
Agreed. The way the whole dial moves as the year progresses is neat. As the video I linked said, it seems very underrated. I typically like finding things that are a bit odd and unique. I hope I can find one in the 40-50 range but we shall see.
Did not see this happening. From what I’m tracking, availability is dropping and prices are rising a bit. I’m shocked. Unless Fudd Gates was right and resellers have been stocking up to jack up some prices on the secondary market soon.
I am never right, but it doesn't make sense for resellers to unload the inventory they've been loading up on now. If when/the economy rebounds they will probably flood the market.
Do gold royal oaks hold their value well? The msrp new are all over the place so it’s hard to tell what they’re doing on the used market. Want a gold watch and do not want to go Rolex. I like the RO chrono. Doubt I’d ever sell it but if they bomb I’d possibly go used
Seems like all royal oaks hold their value and aren't particularly easy to get. Current wait for a stainless steel RO in a big city is over 2 years, and they don't have any golds in store. I don't really ever buy with the intent to resell, but the ones listed here are over retail (https://www.swissluxury.com/audemars-piguet-watches-royal-oak-self-winding-41mm-pink-gold.htm), which is a decent indicator.
Yeah, Royal Oaks will hold value. I wouldn't hold my breath trying to snag a new one at retail anytime soon. I like the 26315 a lot and would grab one of those on the market in a heartbeat.
I am going to provide zero context, but I need all of your answers: White or black dial? Whichever has more votes at midnight EST tomorrow wins.
Nah. You have to tell us the brand and model. Something like an omega speedmaster is much better in black than white imo.
OK, simple answer is black. Qualifying situation is this: You have a blue Tudor, Rhodium YM, and colored Zenith. What type of watch is it? Dress? Sports? Leaning towards black but can see white in a few situations.
I completely agree with you, but I can’t ruin the surprise. All I can say is that the dial color on this reference isn’t “crucial” thank you sir. Your vote has been recorded i wish Black Tudor is being sold. Zenith is off white, Yachtmaster is Rhodium. Black would probably make the most sense but white is slightly unique in general and I don’t have a true white dial I am caving big time
