Normally I’d say there’s probably nothing to it but Bayern has been Real’s bitch for the last 6 or 7 years so I tend to believe this
I don’t see any big money moves without the player really pushing for it. It’s going to be tough for even the teams who have money to be able to justify the optics of major money transfers right now. If the player pushes maybe the selling team takes less or they get creative with a player swap and cash to make it seem better.
Pretty nice having world class left and right backs for 15-20 years between Lahm, Alaba, Kimmich, and Davies
Sounds like chelsea are ready to activate werner’s release clause and it’s up to Liverpool to step up or he will end up at chelsea. I think Liverpool steps up but it sounds like he will end up in the premier league either way.
German outlets saying he rejected Liverpool and Leipzig already. Congrats. You guys know my affinity for him. Wish we’d have gotten him last year for 26mil.
Considering that he can leave on a free transfer in two years and probably feels a bit betrayed by all of this, Chelsea could be left with little choice. I bet Chelsea could essentially pay for Werner with how much they’d get for selling Tammy. I think there a some question marks regarding Werner being a surefire success playing for a different club. Leipzig’s style of play is perfect for Werner’s skill set.
11 goals in 29 appearances as a striker for Germany is underwhelming IMO. He was downright bad for them in the World Cup.
I’m intrigued about whether Reus got credited with an assist from this. I don’t think you can call what he did a passing of the ball.
The broadcast angle looked like toni was 10 feet wide right, then it took a left turn and I screamed and woke up my newborns
I just remembered the stories about how Kroos refused to pass the ball to Plattenhardt. Germany seems to have had many teams over the years where one player was nowhere near the same level of player as the rest of the team.
Plattenhardt shouldn’t have been on the field. He was a serviceable emergency player, at best. Goddamn that World Cup squad was trash
Not counting out anything at this point but as long as Werner wants to join Chelsea, and every source from Germany and England indicates that does, then there's really nothing for Leipzig to do but wait for Werner to write the check. Only other way is if Chelsea and RB wanted to work out some deferred payment system that doesn't technically trigger the release clause but pays out the same amount.
For his sake, I hope he never plays in The Premier League or The Bundesliga. He must be amazing technically to make it as a professional keeper at 5 feet 9.
If I’m a highly rated striker in my prime, I would stay away from City until Aguero is gone. Sure he misses some games every season but it’s not enough to keep another top tier striker happy.
