The problem with the 1968 vs. 2020 comparison in terms of the presidential election was that Nixon was the "change" from the unrest that was going on at the end of the LBJ presidency. It's easy to sell "law and order" when you're the opposing party of the one ruling during the "lawlessness." The lack of "law and order" is going on under Trump's watch. Obvious caveats of unfair, rigged elections and Trump refusing to leave office apply.
