Tough to predict which matchups are next at 170 when there’s no concrete title match yet. Burns would have barn burners with Masvidal and Edwards.
Gutierrez looked great, evening got off to a nice start. Dropped the next 3, Elliott's another one that is hard to trust, and expected Abreu to be a little more successful in the smaller cage, Hill really likes using his length and fighting from a distance. And then we started rolling. Won the next 6 , and I should've continued my thought process a little more on Woodley. He'll either win early by KO or look terrible in a decision, because he's such a low volume fighter. Like a much worse Romero. He's 38, has a ton of distractions, and seemed perfectly content getting smoked for 5 rounds. He's done, I expect him to retire soon. Profitable week, 7-4, and this week is the first Millionaire Maker on DraftKings. I'll do a ton more research than I normally do, but I will say as of today I'm going to be heavily invested in Spencer. If de Randamie had any type of ground game I think she wins her fight with Nunes. Spencer is excellent on the ground and is really heavy when she's on top. Took Cyborg's best shots and kept coming in, so I think over the course of 5 rounds she could frustrate Nunes and put her in a compromising position. Nunes has a kid on the way, and has already started talking about retirement. Probably in the UFC's best interest to create a star in the main event Saturday night, so I'd imagine Dana is hoping the torch is passed to Spencer.
Rashad Evans, Luke Rockhold, Chris Weidman and Renan Barao are a few that come to mind. Holly Holm too, biggest upset win ever followed by many losses and boring fights. But yea Cody was on verge of being next big thing.
his title winning fight against cruz was a goddamn masterpiece then he decided he wanted to just stand and bang with folks
Oh damn I didnt realize Garbrandt is still only 28 years old. Edit - ha, looks like we were looking up his age at the same time
Is Amanda Nunes going to win Saturday? DraftKings offered a promo, which put her odds from -670 to +500. Course I jumped on that, but with zero knowledge of MMA.
Spencer's only loss was to Cyborg iirc. It would still be a huge upset IMO. Although I have wondered if her wife being pregnant might get in the way of training and focus for Nunes...
Tell me more about this promo. Did you have to be a new customer to get it? Max wager? You can't bet straight up on DK, right? You have to build a team? Just curious how this works.
Believe it’s open to all who have a DK account in Colorado. Max wager was $10, and no I didn’t build a team. Here are the terms:
Yeah, did a double take when I saw the initial odds. Max bet is 10 to win 60, so I’ll gladly take that on a sport I know very little about.
Just finished my research. Time for the Ungrateful Bastards Picks of the Week. Burns by KO, probably the 2nd round. Dunham crumbles when he gets hit in the body, I expect them to take their toll. He's been stopped in his last two fights, Burns has finished his last four. Burns is -125 ITD, +425 if you wanna take a flyer on the 2nd round KO. Menifield is a future title contender. Clark's jaw is suspect. I love the fights Menifield has taken so far, making a name for himself without jumping headfirst into the deep waters. I expect a number by his name after tonight. Menifield is +160 for a 1st round stoppage, if you want to play it safe he's -180 inside the distance. I expect Perez/Formiga to dry hump each other for 3 rounds. I'm passing on this altogether, I expect it to be a low volume split decision to probably Perez. If you wanted to bet on it, my best advice would be -200 it goes the distance. Pitolo's nickname is coconut bombs for a reason. Did a little tape study on Byrd and he turtles up anytime he's in trouble. I like the dog here. I don't expect it to go the distance, 5th best odds on the card to have a finish. Combine both of those and I'm on Pitolo +260 ITD. Stamann just lost his little brother unexpectedly this week, so I have no idea what that does for him. Could come out balls on fire or completely unmotivated. Kelleher likes to throw bombs, so I'd expect Stamann to keep the fight grounded as much as possible, and he's generally a decision machine. Stamann by decision -140. Meerschaert impressed the shit out of me vs Winn, stuffed a ton of takedowns from a guy who's wrestling is constantly praised by Cormier. Heinisch is tough, but he's dropped his last two to not great competition and Meershaert seems to be on the come up. Meershart by submission is +260. Both of Askren's kids are fighting tonight, and I expect both to dominate. Hooper looks like he's 12 years old, but he's a fucking monster on the ground. I like him by 1st round sub (1st round odds are +350). Askren's other kid who is in the rebellious phase of his apperance, O'Malley is close to breaking through to superstardom. Eddie Wineland is a nice notch on his belt, and I don't see how he keeps up with the pace/awkward angles/volume O'Malley brings. O'Malley by KO is -160, if you wanted to take a chance he's +185 to finish him in the first. Martin/Magny is a piss break. Martin by decision, but I'm passing on this fight completely. Sandhagen/Sterling is a #1 contender's match, and I expect both to be fighting to not make a mistake with so much on the line. Sandhagen is a volume guy, and I think he eeks out a decision (+200). Garbrandt/Assuncao has no business being in the co main, they've lost their last combined 5 fights. But Garbrandt is marketable, and the division needs a heel contender. He's super unlikeable, but I suspect this is a set up fight to help him rehab. He's a gun slinger and Assuncao doesn't have that skillset. Seems like this is taylor made for a dominant Garbrandt knockout. +350 if you want to take the chance on the first round KO. Felicia Spencer. I think she's got exactly what it takes to beat Nunes. Cast iron chin and a fantastic ground game. I'm playing some narratives here with Nunes being distracted as she's about to become a Dad, but the division desperately needs a rising superstar, and I think Spencer is it. It's a big gamble, but I think she catches Nunes with a rear naked choke sometime in the 2nd-3rd round and shocks the world. Spencer ITD is +600. It's not a well promoted card, but I think we have the chance of a lot of finishes, and a lot of rising superstars taking a step forward tonight (Menifield, Hooper, O'Malley, Sandhagen, Spencer). I'm looking forward to it, and especially looking forward to winning a million dollars on DraftKings. If you somehow read this far, good luck tonight, should be a fun one.
Good Lord relax. It's just a joke, sorry if it offended you. She's called herself the "man" in the relationship. But I'm glad that's what you took from a long ass write up to try and help you guys win some money.
Thanks for the heads up. They've had a lot of those crazy odds boosts. The Ferguson - Gaethje fight had to go 11 seconds to win so I cashed on that
It just means that the fight doesn't end from time running out. If a fighter wins by submission, ko, tko, doctor stoppage, or corner throwing the towel in then it's inside the distance.
