Fully on board the Ranch Water train. The key is a shit ton of fresh lime juice IMO. I typically use 1-2 limes. Also if you are looking to mix things up try using the grapefruit topo chico.
I didn’t know what Tajin was so posting here to help other idiots such as myself https://www.tajin.com/us/tajin-clasico/
Ok, i had to go more like 40/60 instead of 50/50 but I can definitely fuck with this. May have found a new tailgate drink.
Ok so I got some tequila and tried this tonight. Not bad but not sold yet. What type of tequila and how much lime juice did everyone put? Looking for ratios here
One whole lime, fill your glass up with ice. Add tequila to the halfway point and the rest topo Chico.
Use a decent sliver tequila. Doesn’t hurt to add some orange liqueur like Cointreau. Salt the rim with Tajin.
If your grocery store has fresh squeezed lime juice - like the kind they squeezed there - it’s a total game changer
Cheers to another weekend. The last few I’ve been using Avion blanco. It’s really solid. This has to be the ultimate summer drink.
I’ve started throwing in a splash of fever-tree pink grapefruit after a friend of my wife’s left some over here. It’s fantastic.
only a few HEB in all of austin do it as well as central market in austin It’s expensive but worth it - so good. as another poster said you can do it yourself but it’s a pain in ass and you need one of those juicer deals.
can i get Tapo Chico anywhere? The Blackfish is it available at my new Publix? Definitely been looking for more tequila drinks besides my homemade margs. Can't wait to give this a try.
Yes it’s at the Publix. It’s a marg without all the sugar. It’s flavor won’t necessarily blow you away but it’s refreshing. Which also makes it dangerous because you’ll drink a ton. But since you’re drinking so much water with no syrup it helps with the hangover.
Can't wait my marg: 1 part lime juice, 1 part tequilla, 1 part cointreu, 1 part OJ no syrup and certainly not any of that nasty mix. but still loaded with sugar from the OJ and cointreau
Going from simple syrup to agave was a game changer for me. My go to lately: Juice Of half a grapefruit Juice of whole lime Mezcal (Del Maguey Vida) Cointreau Splash of Agave Shake, pour over ice and top with Grapefruit LaCroix.
Thread got me interested so grabbed some supplies earlier today. Cazadores Topo w/lime Fresh squeezed lime juice Agave syrup Is delish. Happy to join you Ranch Water fam.
