Update: went by the store today and i was mistaken. It was the Masters Keep 17 Year but not this year's bottled in bond version.
Anyone live in a city with a Total Wine nearby and seen this Peerless SP? The barrel date is my Wedding date so I would love to get one if possible
is the 17 year bourbon not any good? That’s the only one I haven’t seen around here, probably because it’s been long enough since it was released that they’ve all sold
Lol i didn't know we were friends on facebook. Idk if someone on there would c+s for me. Might have to make a post though...
we aren't. you posted it in a mutual facebook secondary bourbon group. your first initial is J, right?
Oh yeah I didn't make that post but that's where I saw it and saw the Barrel date. I'm not a big Rye fan, especially for the price those go for. But for nostalgia reasons, the barrel date makes me want a bottle. I am interested in their Peerless bourbon, but haven't seen it at all in the KC area. Heard pretty good things even though it's just a four year
I joined the FB secondary group a couple weeks ago, used to be in the BSM group a year or two ago and it's crazy to see how much people are paying for bottles today vs back in 2019/2018. But hey supply/demand or something like that right?
supply/demand, covid stimulus checks (and lack of people out hunting), bourbon trend still up, the most expensive stuff is the limited edition stuff that's never coming back
Most intriguing thing to me about the secondary market is the increased popularity of buying/selling samples. Just nuts to me that people are that trusting/gullible.
oh for sure, i just remember seeing the Bookers 30 on a shelf for 299 and now they are going for 6-700. The rye release was before my time, but its like PVW20 levels
approximately the same for the recent year vwfrr. you could do that easily 1:1 or maybe get a little cash on top to you.
After going to about a dozen stores I finally picked one up. Probably won’t even open it until I can have a backup. Stuff is hard as hell to find around ATL.
I frequent them fairly often. Didn’t know they got a Blantons barrel. Nice grab. Open it and enjoy as the good Lord intended.
Buddy of mine bought a full Blantons set online for $75 a bottle including shipping from a New Jersey liquor store
Saw someone trying to sell that Sweetens Cove. Funny how hyped up it was and now local stores are sitting on 4-5 bottles at 199 a piece
Thank God ReserveBar cancelled my order since they did away with shipping to local Tenn residents and now pickup at local liquor store. The local place called and said they had it on hold for me. Told them to keep it and woman said, "good choice".
pperc any idea why the sudden rise in people selling 12-15y WFE? Also I know you picked up a few bottles in SF earlier this year how were they?
Willett released a 15 yr today so that's what you were seeing. People immediately flipping. I got a couple of 6 yr bourbons and got one for NYGator (the wheater). On his recommendation, I have traded them for an EHT 4G which I'll likely ride for a few years and then sell to offset other purchases of bourbon. I have 1/4 bottle of the EHT 4G left and while it's good, it's not 800+ good.
I liked the high corn WFE i had at a bar, but a local store has a high rye version I may snag if he'll come down a little on price.
