I didn’t miss out my best friend had one and we’d swap up with my PS1. He got to play the final fantasy games and I got to play Zelda and we’d trip on shrooms and play the N64 wrestling games all the time
So glad to see someone else get the genesis add ons Though Sewer Shark is the only game I can immediately remember playing on it
I played a few Sega CD games at a friend’s house. There was a bizarre one about a Soviet type country that had a coup and allowed contestants in a game show a chance for freedom to the West.
Assuming from your other posts that you mean N64, I played a lot on them in college so never needed my own. Playing WCW/NWO Revenge on there is one of my favorite gaming memories, the perfect wrestling game.
N64 was the peak of local multiplayer. And it makes sense everyone has find memories even if you didn't own one. But you probably didn't play (or fully play) Mario 64 or ocarina of Time or spend as much time with GoldenEye's excellent single player, wave race, 1080 snowboarding, or spent as much tine creating wreslters which are my favorite memories. And as someone who still has mine its amazing how well they hold up. N64 are better now than PS2 games are.

NES SNES Genesis PlayStation N64 PS2 Xbox Xbox 360 PS4 Switch After swapping back and forth between PlayStation and Xbox the last couple of generations I think I’ll definitely stick with PlayStation going forward.
That was just a lul for me gaming wise. I still managed to play most of the important games of that era but I missed a bunch.
Haven't played the new ones so ill refer to your judgement there. Last one I had was fifa 17 and it has almost always been waaaay more polished as a series when compared to 2K and Madden. NBA2K20 was trending #1 on twitter for the first week after its launch because it was virtually unplayable due to the amount of bugs server crashes and other issues. Madden 20 literally had Madden 19 stickers inside the stadium and in other areas that they forgot to remove because its the exact same fucking game. The Fifa I've played has never had those types of problems.
madden 20 is absolutely not madden 19. reused assets do not mean its the same game. do you expect them to completely remake all stadiums each year?
Yeah 17 was awesome. It’s just been really bad the last couple years to the point I know people not buying 21. I will cave and buy it but for the first time I’m actually considering passing on it
Funny seeing the approximate ages of everyone based on when these lists start. Between my brother and Insince we shared everything as kids: Tandy computer Atari NES SNES Turbografix 16 Sega Genesis/32x PS1 N64 Dreamcast GameCube PS2 XBox PS3 Xbox 360 Wii WiiU PS4 Xbox One Switch Think my brother may have had a Saturn at some point but I have no memory of playing it.
SNES Gameboy Gameboy Color PS1 PS2 Gameboy Advance Xbox 360 PS3 Wii Xbox One Nintendo 3DS Switch PS4 PS5 when it drops
Game Gear Genesis PlayStation N64 Dreamcast PS2 360 PS4 Switch I wasn’t allowed to have have a non-handheld game system until like 1993, then got a Genesis after literal years of begging. My Grandpa who was a huge nerd then went and got a launch PlayStation for my brother and I for Christmas without telling my parents. Hid it behind the tree and didn’t tell anyone what was in it. I’ve probably only seen my mom more pissed a handful of times.
I guess I should have included Windows 95 as a system. Back when sports games were getting regular PC releases and they were ahead on being 3D...I played way more NHL 97 on PC be fore I started to build my N64 library (which I got on launch day)
Intellivision NES SNES N64 PS2 Xbox360 PS3 PS4 PS5 New consoles coming out in the 90s was mind blowing because of how big of a jump there was in technology.
Can't believe I forgot my Dreamcast!!! Loved that system so much, worked at EB Games when it came out, took one home after working the midnight release, couldn't get over how amazing NFL2K looked. Powerstone, THPS2, the UFC game, all of them were spectacular
I legit got addicted to Phantasy star online. I was always outside playing some kind of sport with the rest of the kids in the neighborhood, but that game came out and I didn't go outside for long enough to where some people thought I had moved away
Genesis PS1 PS2 XBox 360 PS3 (when xbox got red ring of death) Parents had Wii PS4 Xbox One x Wife has a Switch
I played Starcraft for like an entire decade. I can’t even imagine how many hours I put into that game.
Starcraft is basically a lifestyle for the people that are into it enough. There will still be Broodwar tournaments 50 years from now in South Korea when the gaming industry standard is 8k 120 fps VR holodecks.
At that price point, I am most assuredly going with the disc drive. I’ll keep the physical copies from PS4 most near and dear, as well as my Blu Rays, but I’ll buy my games digitally like the adult you guys have pushed me to be.
My digital library is jumping out the stove oven and the last disc I bought (only other was ESO) was FO4. Digital at 450 is super sexy and I hope that’s what’s up
thats exactly the reason i think we'll see a $100 difference in the two. $50 isnt enough to move the market away from physical games.
May not be trying to sway the market. As much as WE despise physical games it’s still a production industry that pays taxes (likely even has lobbyists). The digital only version may in the end just be a cheaper way to get the console in peoples households
who are these people that want physical copies? You still have to load them to your machine and you risk them getting scratched
Destiny 1 was the last physical disk I bought of any type of media. I went digital and never looked back. It feels phenomenal.
Only thing I hate about digital is the potato internet service I have sometimes. Nothing worse than wanting to play a game and you have 8 hours remaining with 30gbs to go.
It really is nice to have an actual library. I’m not a collector so I’ve alway been one to just trade in my games so I’d always have one or two games at a time. Now I have 200. I’m miserable so I don’t play any of them but they are there if I want them and with next gen tech, they’re there for another generation or better
Ive learned to have foresight wrt to what’s next for me. All of my game downloading happens overnight
Very true, also really nice to be able to pre-download now so it’s ready to play right at midnight or whenever
I never really invested in a hard drive upgrade so physical discs were still fine. But in the future I am planning to do fully digital. But if the price isn't really different does the disc drive hurt? Especially if you don't currently own a 4K DVD player.
I bought a handful of PS4 disks but realized it was much easier to just switch games with the UI than get up and load disks
Physical made sense before I moved because a GameStop was walking distance and I had a little more time to plow through games and find the right promotions they were running to not get fisted too hard. Now I'm clear across town from the nearest GameStop and my Best Buy Gamer discount ran out so I get to either pay $60 for physical and have it show up late or $60 for digital and have that bitch ready to roll at midnight. I still have several PS4 titles I'd like to play again that I don't really want to go through the effort of trading in for minimal credit to turn around and buy digitally. If GameStop runs any sort of promotion leading up to release, I'll jump on it and purge my physical library.
I’m really lazy and don’t want to swap discs. I love having the physical library, but not worth it in the end. also, physical copies still require a ridiculous download/update.
