https://www.thestar.com/amp/sports/...undation-agree.html?__twitter_impression=true Hearing there may be more stories coming out. Sure hope they do. The notion that Ottawa can’t support this team is BS. Fans hate the owner and won’t support him. Have to wonder if the league will continue to stand by as he hurts the brand and revenues.
Well considering quite a few of us ITT played at a relatively high level, I’m sure someone can answer your question
If by high level you mean only playing pond hockey growing up and then not even skating from 15 to 28 years old and deciding to jump right into a beer league 4 years ago is a high level, then count me in!
I’m so out of touch with equipment anymore, don’t need expensive stuff to play men’s league. Have to buy my kid some new skates. Bauer nexus n2700’s are about half the price of the n2900’s. Reading about them, the differences seem negligible for a 12 year old but didn’t know if I should spend the extra money.
I play 2-3 times a week during the winter and most of my gear is so old, almost all of it I have had since high school/college. Luckily its all held up all these years of playing. I did get a new pair of gloves recently, top level pair of CCM's. But those were given to me by a buddy that coaches, so I saved alot of money on that. My skates are newer and I always recommend buying a nice pair. You spend some money on them but hopefully can get 8+ years out of them. Only thing I am ever willing to splurge on is a stick. Huge difference from the super cheap sticks to the mid-level price point ones. I am usually always willing to spend $150-$180 on a stick. I only really have to buy 2-3 a year anyways.
im the same way about sticks. I bought my kid new skates last August and he’s already out of them, it’s why I try to buy nice skates but holding off on higher end skates until his feet stop growing so quickly
I will always remember my mom bitching about this when I was growing up. There was one instance where in course of like 1.5 seasons she had to buy me 3 pair of skates because I kept outgrowing them.
My dad bought me used skates until I was about 16 because I would keep outgrowing them. 15 years later, I still have that same pair, (though when I start playing again, I think I'm going to get new ones). Unless your kid is on a trajectory to play Junior level hockey and every little bit counts, get the skates that are reasonable price wise. Anyone who looks down on you for that decision is an idiot. He's gonna need new skates again next summer.
Wait I haven’t been paying attention what’s been the holdup with the lottery/draft when MLB is the biggest mess of all the major sports and has their draft on the normal date? Conditional picks and all that stuff?
the person next to Ovi in this photo is no joke one of the worst hockey players you will ever see skate. He’s a beginner level player at best. He literally annoyed Kasperitis into allowing him into the skate. But hey, he got himself onto the ice with Ovi
got more info. Kasperitis made him sit on the bench until the last minute or two of the skate. He literally got to take the photo and that's it.
Quebec City would be an absolute perfect place to come play, almost nothing here. Good rink, plenty of hotels, plenty of great restaurants waiting to get back to work. But third world country hospitals.
Roman Polak signed a deal to play in the Czech next season, but it sounds like he isn’t returning to Dallas for the playoffs this season.
Polak is one of those guys that always seemed much older than he is. He's 34 now. Felt like he was 34 when the Blues traded him to Toronto
It's going to be a normal lotto where spots 8-16 will be filled by place holder teams. If one of the placeholder teams wins the lotto, a 2nd lotto will be held after the play in round where each team that doesn't make the round of 16 will have an equal 12.5% chance to win.
bye bitch. As much as I wanted him gone, sad that we are the franchise just running through coaches/GMs.
Kruger seems to have a lot of power there. Wouldn’t shock me if he’s going to be involved in player procurement.
sabres haven't done anything well in a decade. They haven't acquired a good goalie. Their veteran acquisitions never pan out. And their drafting has been dog shit.
There's also giving Jeff Skinner 9 million AAV for 8 years, deluding themselves into thinking Rasmus Ristolainen was a top pairing D-man, believing the hot start every year was real, etc. Sabres are the team that the entire NHL sees as average at best, but the braintrust thinks is just a piece of two away. Just horribly mis-managed and are now bringing a guy in with no hockey-ops experience to run the show. Good luck with that.
Buffalo doesn’t think a defenseman currently playing for the University of Minnesota named Ryan Johnson
