Vulcan shut down their site today to restock. So maybe later this week they'll be another shot at some stuff. I've got most everything I need except for plates.
I'm out here debating ordering plates from walmart https://www.walmart.com/ip/Everyday...te-w-Steel-Hub-55-lbs/487140371?selected=true
Ok, down to under 8,000. Everything is fucking sold out. Just noticed the list below the counter. POPULAR EQUIPMENT OUT OF STOCK: AB-5000 AB-5200 AB-5100 AB-3000 Hex Dumbbell Sets FB-5000 w/ wide pad FB-3000 PR-1000 PR-1100 PR-4000 Black Bumper Plates Color Bumper Plates Iron Plates Excalibur Bars
Just missed my post above I think. At this point I'm praying I get the chance to overspend and buy some competition bumpers
I was back and forth between buying a bar today here or buying a bar from American Barbell over the weekend. Glad I went ahead with the AB bar and didn't wait until now. Bars are starting to now go out of stock. 7000 more people to go!
What if we learned how to make our own plates and bars? And we stockpiled the raw materials needed to make them?
There’s a guy I have some mutual friends with that does this. He makes some solid equipment but the plates aren’t great aesthetically imo. Check him out on IG, though. @eccoarms
Bought some gymnastics rings and ball hooks for pull-ups since the wife is not thrilled with me going back to the gym whenever they finally open.
Convince your wife that spending thousands on a home gym is the way to go. If she gives you pushback, just tell her that you’ll just accept the Covid risk... if she cares about your health... and hers... she’ll agree. Welcome to the crew.
Oh for sure. I just want to do a home gym right and not try to piece it together now. I’d rather wait and do it how I’d want it
Good idea. Gonna be interesting to see how the supply chain holds up over the next few months and into Black Friday... I don’t see the demand going anywhere fast, and there has without question been a permanent shift in the industry.
I'll be curious how many gyms shut down in 2020. I live in a town of less than 20k people and we at one time had 4 gyms (Snap, Anytime, a Crossfit, and a local gym that had been there for years). The local shop shut down a couple years ago. Snap has had 3 owners in the past 5 years and I can't imagine both that one and the Anytime keep enough members to both stay open. Fingers crossed they sell their stuff for cheap if they close...
I majored in economics in college and it has nothing to do with my profession(also never really interested me all that much, just needed a degree at the time) but really intrigued to see how all this goes. The companies that play it well should make a killing.
My biggest thing now is just doing some finishing work on my gym. Horse stall mats, ceiling mounted tv, bar rack, wall mounted pegs for plates, etc.
I've found some bumpers. Eleiko has a set of 320# training bumpers. ...Only 2,400. Shipping not included
What if I promise to leave all my power upstairs and only lift puny weights because I'm a little guy?
