Keith Law over at The Athletic has Lynch as his #13 MLB prospect. That's a lot higher than other lists I've seen. Only other Royal in his top 100 is Witt at #47.

We will lose 90 games but the end of the year when we may have debuts from the likes of Lynch, Singer and Kowar will be exciting to see.

With Heston Kjerstad and Max Meyer sliding in before Kansas City's turn, Lacy and Austin Martin slid, and the Royals might have put the cherry on top of the three drafts' worth of college pitching sundae. The pick: Nick Loftin This one isn't a head-scratcher for K.C.: I love the pick where the Royals got him. I can't figure out why no one took him earlier. In a draft where shortstops are pushed up by draft models and college players are pushed up for a number of reasons, how did so many teams pass on Loftin? I heard he has a nice overslot number here, but college juniors can't slide that far with bonus demands no matter how hard they try. I heard Loftin had a big deal behind the K.C. pick if he slid further and some clubs in the late first were kicking the tires but liked their slot options enough. I was told Loftin took a big step forward this spring and was drawing Nico Hoerner comps, so clubs in the 20s will feel foolish if that's how this plays out. K.C. had a great first night.
Thrilled to land Lacy at 4. Loftin seems like a pretty safe, albeit boring, pick. What's up with our 2nd-round pick being committed to Illinois-Chicago? Not exactly a baseball powerhouse.

He choose to play baseball at UIC because it gave him a chance to play every day close to his family. There are some medical issues in his family which keep them really close. The Royals are a great organization for him as they value family and relationships and will allow him some freedom when it comes to his family.

Not sure why everyone is so down on Singer. He didn't light the world on fire but in AA at age 22 he had a 3.47 ERA and 1.23 WHIP and almost struck out a batter per inning. Sure I'd like to see more Ks but I'm not going to argue with that production so far. He probably won't project as a 1 or 2 with the lack of Ks but I don't see why he couldn't be a rotation staple.
But have you seen his numbers from the OOTP21 simulated season that baseball-reference is doing??? 1-7, 7.78 ERA, 1.747 WHIP, 13.8 H/9, 5.2 K/9 Seriously though, I agree. None of his numbers from last season worry me too much. It's not like he was pick 1.1.
He had a couple bad outings once he moved up to AA last season. After that, from July through the end of the season, he rebounded and was better than he was in A+. June: 6.35 ERA, .928 OPS against, 5.7 K/9, 32% line drive rate, 8% swinging strike rate July/Aug: 2.51 ERA, .599 OPS against, 9.4 K/9, 26% line drive rate, 11% swinging strike rate He does need to show more consistency with the changeup before we can be comfortable with him in a rotation.
