think thats like 20 miles north of Atlanta, so makes sense theyre finding a friendly municipal partner there. Isner is pretty far right too, so another box checked.
They also shut down a proposal to allow individual workouts in fall sports other than football So no golf coaches working with kids on the golf course. Which people had been clamoring for
Lifetime (formerly Raquet Club of the South) is about 1.5 miles from where my parents live and a facility I visited often when I first started playing ALTA/USTA tennis after college. I agree with you that I’m not surprised they jumped at this opportunity given how popular tennis is in that specific area of Atlanta. Also, I’m not sure I’d ever want to watch Isner play live again - to put it kindly I’m not a fan of his style of play.
it's not a sport but pro wrestling is about to get hammered with positive COVID tests from the sound of things, perhaps even Vince McMahon himself
why? Long term issues have been proven to be nothing! They can play if all these other jobs are being worked.
This is what I hope they do especially if the vaccine is ready like Fauci has said. Starting and stopping a fall season that never gets completed is dumb as hell to me
I’ll admit that I was wrong about it being a bad idea to start up soccer in Europe. However, we have individual teams and schools putting up more positive tests than entire leagues did in England and Germany (where they had like 1700-1800 tests done). It seems like this is going to go poorly.
yup. people kept wanting to say that since Europe has so far been able to get their leagues going, then we should absolutely get ours going as well. problem is, it was handled much better over there and its much easier getting leagues going when the R0 is <1 vs. here where its >1 for about 75% of the population
god what if we get the tournament and the cfb playoff happening at the same time would be worth the wait
first round of the tourney, thursday/friday then games all day saturday until the playoff semis start then games all day sunday then opening day of baseball all day Monday before we watch mack and the boys win in the title game monday night wear a mask and we can make this happen
"God can stamp this out just as quick as it rose up, and I don’t have any doubt that’s what’s going to happen. That’s my belief. Now, if someone wants to blast me because I believe things are going to turn around, well, then that’s fine. They can blast me for that. That’s OK. “I believe we are gonna kick this thing in the teeth and nothing is going to change that belief for me.”
Over 30 from the WWE. They were pretty much the only events not shut down and it’s turned into a catastrophe. If they could have put on shows without any issues this could have been an excuse to let fans come back for other sporting events but it ended just like expected. Time to accept there will be no sports this year.
Dabo’s playing chess. The mysterious ingredient “C19” was recently added to Dabo’s Super Shampoo and distributed to the players.
That was a horrible tweet. The comments were negative and criticized the epidemiologist for a lack of leadership, etc... I looked up the actual article containing that quote and here’s the full reply, “You’re still creating new cases in a global pandemic, so — and you can print this — [expletive] you,” Binney said. “That really makes me quite angry. “There are a few things to worry about here. Even if these players don’t get sick at all, you’re still creating a vector, another way for the virus to spread, and it could spread to older coaches, older athletic staff, older family members. What if somebody goes home to visit grandma and they didn’t know they were sick because they were young and asymptomatic? You’re still creating this risk and it’s not just for the players. When you deal with an infectious diseases, your personal choices are never just your personal choices. “Also it’s important to understand that while most young people seem to recover fine, there is still a lot we don’t know about the virus. Even in asymptomatic cases, we’re starting to see lung damage and potential other long-term organ damage that didn’t make itself known immediately. There’s the possibility that these young men and women who are elite athletes in peak physical shape, even a small degradation of that could be career altering. This isn’t just, ‘Hey, nobody died. No blood, no foul.’ It’s a lot more complicated than that.”
