If we don’t lose the last game of the season, we’re picking 2nd and 3rd. Can’t complain about where we landed though, but would have been nice
Their 25 years playoff streak ended just three years ago. Bad is pretty low on the list of things I feel for them.
It’s the only way. If not, the pick has to go to the team that actually won the lotto last night. The predators who were team E
Both Detroit and Ottawa have watched their teams drop from a great spot in the lottery to a less envious spot in the draft. Sens have dropped 2/3 places in each of the last 3 lotteries. Sometimes a team gets fortunate and drafts a better player at 4 or 5 than had they remained at 1/2, and sometimes they don’t. Either way the Sens are going to have a great draft.
Still don’t think playoff teams should have a shot at the lottery, but the heavy hitters in the league spoke up and got things changed.
Picks 8-16 should have been in the lotto with normal odds and teams 8-16 should have been settled by regular season points from the eliminated teams.
“Playoffs” Edit: Teams like Montreal and Chicago were only in the playoffs so teams like Ottawa and Florida don’t fold. Get out of here with that line of thought. Habs were 10 points out with 10 more games to go, had two 8 games losing streak, lost 4 times to the Wings, yet shouldn’t have a shot at the lottery?
Are all teams participating? Are the teams playing all other teams, or just one in a best of series? Are teams eliminated if the other team wins 3 games? Are stats being kept? My friend, you’ve got yourself a playoff.
By that same logic, it’s a partial extension of the cut short regular season against one particular team.
You literally still have a shot in the lottery because of this format. If it was a standard lotto, you lost yesterday. The order would be Nashville, LA, Ottawa
Assume Laf and the two C’s are taken top 3... what should Detroit do? From what I gather LA will take Stutzle.
I go back and forth on it but I think Rossi, Perfetti or Raymond. Next year has a lot of high end D so I don’t think I would go with Drysdale, but I don’t hate it.
i would be pissed too if my team went up 11 spots just to draft Nolan Patrick and pass on Miro heiskanen, cale makar and elias pettersson
At this point, that's the best option. We are doing a shit tier job of containing this. Though I'm not sure how easy it will be to maintain a bubble in two hockey crazy cities. Can absolutely see fans congregating around the arenas all day hoping to see players or whatever.
YEAH FUCK YOU AMERICA YOU PIECE OF SHIT COUNTRY O CANADA OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND TRUE PATRIOT LOVE IN ALL OF US COMMAND
Pretty sure bonus money isn’t part of escrow. That’s gotta piss off the majority of players who will be losing a big chunk of their paycheques only to see the high end guys get all their pay. Wonder if that changes...
