Know a handful of people who have tested positive in the past week who were out at bars all weekend. Also a few Lightning players have tested positive
my buddy plays hockey a few times a week out there in Brandon. Says they don’t even make an effort to sanitize anything in the locker rooms. I’m sure the lightning do a better job in their part of it, but still
5 Phillies players and 3 staff tested positive as well. Mask usage seemed to be up today when I went to Publix but still not enough.
Some friends went out for a birthday dinner Saturday, one just texted our groupchat that they've got a fever and waiting for covid test results. Thought it was monumentally stupid at the time and glad I stayed home.
Just got gas at wawa. 0 masks going in and out. And there were a ton of people there in the few minutes I was pumping
Visited my sister at the Clearwater Beach Marriott last night. When we left (around 9pm) the main strip of bars/restaurants and the Pier 60 area was completely slammed. Not a mask in sight.
Thanks for the suggestions. Went with the Avalon since most of our group had already gotten rooms there. Y’all go head and clear up all that rona before my trip, tia.
My 40th is in two months and we cancelled our Vegas trip. Likely just staying at home. This shit is everywhere.
Positive test, only a fever for now. Saw Macdintons and Yard of Ale closed a few days ago, every bar should've followed suit
Rapidly spreading in Tampa area. Positive case count doesnt tell the whole story either, which is pathetic.
Hillsborough County approves mandatory mask order for indoor businesses by 5-3 vote. Yes: Castor, Overman, Murman, Miller, Ross No: Snively, Lott, Chronister. Goes into effect Wednesday 5 p.m. Renewed every week by Emergency Policy Group. @TB_Times
One buddy said he was never short of breath. Felt a little fuzzy, like a little hangover. Briefly lost taste and smell, but now just a little muted.
I think pretty much everything is shut down for now (Macdintons, Yard, Saloon, Bar Howard) after employees tested positive. Hopefully everyone is getting tested and going into quarantine if they're positive but that seems way too optimisic.
Have you heard of any restaurants shutting down? I posted some other Tampa related stuff in the virus thread.
No idea I just checked the fb pages/instagrams of the bars listed. Restaurants are definitely safer than crowded bars with everyone trying to talk over loud music but still fuck that nonsense. I think there's testing available in Lakeland since it sounds like Tampa is maxed out for a few days.
Tampa has never reached 100 in its history. The feels like temp should only be 110+. Nbd. I waste way too much time during the summer months on Zillow looking at places I’d rather own a home this time of year (and the rest of the rest of the year).
Then throw in the 80% humidity. I went outside for five minutes last night to put out the trash and was sweating.
Took son to Zoo Tampa yesterday. Didn't realize they moved their location to the surface of the sun. Went on their water ride to cool off like 5 times.
Raymond James opened additional spots for testing. Attorney I have cases against mentioned he had it and his wife wanted to be tested. Wait was 10 days for an appointment. My wife is a P.A. and working on getting her a next day test. Ray Jay then opened a bunch of spots.
no it’s first come first serve but it opens at 7am and from the sounds of it, you better be there by 5am to ensure a test.
I watched an interview with the hillsborough county employee in charge for testing and he said that they were looking to double testing capacity at Raymond James this week. Glad it seems to have been done on Monday. he talked about how they have plenty of actual tests but are short on licensed medical professionals. Only so long one person can work wearing PPP in this heat which made a lot of sense to me. This was a challenge I hadn’t thought about as we go into summer.
Hillsborough superintendent just announced that he's proposing the start of school be pushed back to August 24th. Needs to be approved by school board to be official.
The number of positive cases is high, but think about how many people you know that do not have it. Vast majority, right? Seems like we are far from the peak.
I think the delay is more so they can figure out it’s going to work logistically as opposed to waiting for the numbers going down.
My wife just had her meeting with her principal. First quarter is most likely going to be fully e-learning. Her principal also said hills county will more than likely do whatever Miami dade does
