amex offering 25k amex pts if you put 25k in their 1.15% interest high yield interest account and hold for 90 days not sure how targeted but imagine that's a good deal for some people who keep large cash reserves
I’ve been hoarding points for awhile but with covid cases exploding, I might just cash out and not risk devaluation.
Same, anyone with any leads, tis appreciated. DoC says its targeted - https://www.doctorofcredit.com/targ...account-25000-membership-rewards-point-bonus/
I received the email offer as well. I just went back and looked and it doesn’t appear you can refer someone.
think i'm going to take advantage of that amex deal, buying a condo/townhouse next year probably so sidelining some money for that would be smart and the ROI on that % plus points is great. i wish the 90day requirement was a timer but it's you have to have it in by X date and not take it out by Y date
Anything I need to be aware of in regards to rules when applying for Barclays cards? Also anybody have a referral for the AA biz Barclays card they'd like me to use? Also want to make sure I'm going for the right card here. Currently I have the following. CSR CSP CIP AMEX Platinum Aspire World of Hyatt All of those in the last 2 years so no Chase cards for me right now. I'd like some more points for a month long trip the wife and I are doing to Europe next year and the AA biz card seems good value for getting miles for flights to get over there. Chase points approx 250k Amex points approx 80k Both Hilton and Hyatt are at almost zero for a trip we're doing domestically later this year.
Reminder for my Amex Plat brethren: don't forget to use your $50 off at Sak's ASAP. the credit will be reimbursed on the day the charge posts, not the transaction date.
Already bought the gift card. Gotta find the 100 bucks from last year and splurge on something stupid next month.
Have the Schwab Platinum already. Pulled the trigger on the vanilla Platinum via referral from a friend (he gets 20k MR so he gave me $50 as a thanks). I'll be cashing out the sign up bonus via Schwab for $750 to offset annual fee ($200 gain). I was able to get the card number so I was able to use the cell phone and streaming credit for June. Also loaded card number into Uber for lunch money tomorrow. In total: $200 gain from sign up bonus (after $550 annual fee) $140 gain from cell phone credits $140 gain from streaming $200 gain from Uber Eats (I use pickup mostly) $100 gain ordering makeup for the wife from Saks Not going to count the airline fee credit yet.

Getting more of a bailout from high-premium credit cards than the fed. Writing in "Hilton Aspire" in November.
SIAP: Gas and instacart are 5x categories on CSR from 7/1 through 9/30. Streaming services are 10x. Those are 3x and 5x, respectively, on CSP. https://thepointsguy.com/news/chase...87e0e41609960379fe5aac84a&utm_date=2020-06-30
Amex got my Streaming money right now - 20 bucks back each month is the way to go. 10x from CSR is weaksauce IMO.
Am I the only person that buys a gas card during the weekly grocery trips? I’ll buy a 50 Mobil gas card and then fill up both cars with it.
So this is a 10 $5 credits, right? So you need to spend more than $10 ten different times to get $50? Like, I can't go to a local place on the list and spend $100 then get a $50 credit...right?
Wat do? Details: I have a choice to stay in a Home2 and use my Hilton Aspire and get more monopoly money from Hilton or to stay in a nicer Springhill for the same price. I'll be gone a couple of weeks. I don't have a Marriott card and I'm under 5/24. Is it better to try and get a Marriott card before I go (I'm checking in Monday so it might be hard) or just keep going with the aspire? I'd rather be in the Marriott.
Others know the game way better than me but I would assume it will be almost impossible to get the Marriott card before you get there on Monday. However, if you are going to be there for at least 2 weeks, then there might be a chance you get it before you check out and can ask them to charge that new card prior to you checking out. I would think its one of those "bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" type situations. You know you have the Hilton card and can get those points whereas you have no idea if: (a) you will be approved for the Marriott card or (b) it will arrive in time even if you are approved.
Yeah that's the tough part. The Chase Bonvoy card looks like good value but it seems like a nightmare to try and get the physical card to myself in a timely way.
Anyone know how chase sapphire purchase protection works exactly? I bought some nightstands from Ashley (bad mistake). They took 6 weeks to arrive and showed up slightly damaged. Took Ashley 3 weeks to return my calls, so I called chase and explained the situation in the meantime. They said they would freeze the payment, send a letter, and probably ask for pictures. Ashley called back today and gave me the option of either having the nightstands replaced or returned. They said both processes would take 4ish weeks for me to get refunded. At this point I just want to keep the nightstands and chase to deal with it through purchase protection. Do I need to call them back or is it assumed that it was covered under that since they said they may need pictures?
I’m fine with just a discount. It seems like a scam for Ashley (again, I should know better) to say it will take 4+ weeks to get a refund, especially after taking 3 weeks to return my call. I guess my question is, should I call chase back and explain that Ashley called me back?
Ashley will tell them they offered you what they offered you, you'll lose and you'll be back to square one Chase has no reason to protect you here imo
dealing with chase disputes currently, they're kind of bad hotel closed during corona but refused refund. pretty easy dispute case right? nope, marked valid on first time through because the hotel sent them an email where i asked what my options were due to border restrictions. they never even asked if they were open or closed. resubmitted with proof they closed and that person said it was a slam dunk but i'm still suspicious.
have 110,000 chase points right now. Says I can get $1600 worth of travel with it....if i could travel. I usually use it for plane tickets when I'm traveling.
Nice little outcome with my Amex Plat. I bought a Peter Millar polo for $94 with my $50 Saks credit in June. Well the next day they reduced the price to $55, so I requested a credit/price match. with the Amex $50 credit the total price comes out to under $7.
RJF-GUMP a lot of people itt have been doing this because it's pretty solid value if you don't have a trip in mind.
