I wasn't going to post anything but then I saw several "I don't know how anybody can go to a gym" posts My county has reported no new cases the last two days
I think RonBurgundy posted a while back that his doctor friends knew so much more how to work with patients versus what we knew in March.
My buddy who’s fighting this in New York said the same. Previously during the initial onslaught it was just throwing shit at the wall for the most part but now they at least have a working knowledge of some therapeutic measures and treatments that work and I think I remember him saying apart from that the biggest difference is not wasting their time with stuff that doesn’t help.
Good place to start would be rent relief. It’s the only reason I have stayed open during all of this. I have to pay full rent that is personally guaranteed for the next 22 months at one of my locations.
That was my question, the number of cases has to start effecting the numbers of deaths at some point. When do you expect to see the deaths start to move in response to the skyrocketing case numbers?
I’m not worried about eviction. My lease has personally guaranteed rent in it. Whether I’m there or not I’m personally on the hook for every penny for the next 20+ months.
Yep. The clot data is really big. Mid 60% of hospitalized Covid positives have DVTs (per a single study but still). That’s fucking insane data. Knowledge is important. mortality should drop with better icu care, period. but people aren’t understanding that this new surge in wave one in southern states isn’t as apocalyptic as it looks by the case numbers because our testing IS better and it’s mostly driven by young people with mild disease. We’re not going to underrepresent cases by a factor of 10 like NYC surge if our testing remains decent. That will lower CFR significantly. hospitalizations and icu capacity is very important, but keeping this out of LTC facilities and keeping 70+ year olds away from the surge will keep death rates low.
Determining the impact to the 40-60 year old parents over the next 2-3 weeks (post Fathers Day) will be informative. That group is moderately at-risk and more likely to have younger family under the same roof or under-protecting during this surge.
My dad is 63, I’m 39. I had hoped to visit for Father’s Day and watched things hoping they’d get better. I knew I wasn’t going and I was relieved on the Thursday before Father’s Day that he told me not to come because being healthy is more important. Then he told me everyday is Father’s Day; it’s only on the calendar once. I wasn’t sure how serious he was taking it but that was a huge relief to me.
First "closing" was pretty soft but bars had to be to-go only. I think gyms were closed (the one in my complex was closed so I assume others were). Not sure about those other things, I don't regularly frequent any of them.
If they do a year-long blanket eviction moratorium without doing anything about mortgages, a lot of middle class families with investment properties are going to be in a world of hurt.
the disconnect between people who are in the upper 25% and think they are middle class is staggering.
No idea. I'm sorry, but suggesting that if someone has invested in a rental property it means they aren't middle class is bullshit.
Most aren’t Generally middle-class people don’t have the side cash for that type of operation in today’s society.
Honestly this is like every 3rd year Or so there’s a novel avian/swine strain but isn’t human to human transmissible and this same article pops up.
I guess a better first question is what income level do you equate middle class with because ^this is correct
Just got word from my buddy that he's moving back his wedding again. Looking at mid 2021 now. Super glad because I was not looking forward to going.
All that stuff is good but nothing really replicates weights. I’ve been going to the gym for a few weeks at off hours, only a handful of people each time, I wear a mask and skip the locker room. I bought a great set of bands, and a matching barbell and EZ curl bar. Good but doesn’t cut it for what I want. Bowflex is missing out on so much revenue, Have been on the notify list for months for the dumbbells, and they just recently released a BB and EZ curl set that’s also unavailable.
The internet (pew) tells me middle income is $42,000-$126,000 for a household nationwide. Definitely space there for investment property income if you just don’t sell your first house or buy a cheap rental for extra income/wealth building.
Was doing my final walk thru in a home we just purchased and the seller showed up unexpectedly to grab some things. She just moved from AZ to Katy, TX which I am to understand is just outside of Houston. We’re all wearing masks and she busts in, no mask, fresh from the airport talking about how her and girlfriends have so many dinner plans for the next few days while she’s in town. What the fuck.
FWIW Santa Cruz County opened its beaches completely after banning beach use from 11am to 5pm in order to discourage daily tourists coming from the Bay Area. County Health Officer pretty much said it was unenforceable because so many people were disregarding the order. They wanted to keep the ban in place through July 6, but threw up their hands and gave in last Friday.
