So what coverage are you all getting when this new auto insurance law takes hold next month? I haven’t really done research yet.
Was curious people’s thoughts as well. Is the “savings” just cutting the catastrophic coverage for something much less?
My understanding is you should see minor savings if you keep your protection unlimited. You get more savings as you lower your protection amount. You could theoretically cut your policy in half if you opt for the 50k allowance. At least that’s what I think.
Got a lot of friends who are immediately back at restaurants and bars and having large parties. My wife is still worried because she is a higher risk pregnancy and her doctor doesn't want her risking much so im still heavily social distancing. Anyone ventured out to restaurants yet?
Went in the brewery by my place to grab a beer on Sunday after golf and it was pretty low key. All staff w/ masks and most patrons when not drinking (at least inside). Outside was a bit looser but tables were all spread out as they were inside. Frankly, I probably wouldn’t do it again for a bit, kinda stressful. Might as well get a growler fill and go home and not have to sweat it. That said, this is Livingston County so I’m sure meteo Detroit places were a) more crowded b) better about masks.
I went out to dinner after golf on Saturday. Sat outside. Felt safe, and definitely didn’t have any concerns. Menus were all disposable, or you can pull up on your phone, staff was wearing masks, and had gloves on when serving food.
Continued to order carryout and went to nearby park to eat with some families feom baseball team. In Grand Rapids this weekend and will likely do the same
Definitely not dining in anywhere until next spring. Will continue to get carry out and might do some patio dining at some point, but as of now it's honestly just better to get carryout and meet up somewhere
I guess it's not so much that I didn't feel safe, more a risk reward thing. It's not like there were any sports to watch on TV or anything. I could see us going to get food but I can drink at home just fine.
Yeah, I have never understood the thrill of dining out to be honest. Now and again I'll take the wife out for a meal but largely I much prefer to cook my own meals. Large outings excluded like team events and such, which I have no desire to get involved with at this time.
I prefer going out on the spur of the moment. When I have a reservation I end up getting hungry two hours before hand and then I’m grumpy until I slam down an appetizer. Our favorite place is reopening next month, so our plan is to go there to support the business. I don’t have any plans to go anywhere else after that though. I’ll stick to carry out once or twice a week and cooking at home
yet they all just beat the nursing home drum that she directly killed 1300 people by forcing people there. I just can't handle most people anymore. Sadly my own parents are on the conspiracy train all of a sudden. Maddening
Funny how this shit has flipped for me personally. Went from not wanting to visit fam in MI in April due to fears of catching it, now I'm worried if I travel up there I'll be bringing my NC germs
With a pregnant wife im basically social distancing until October regardless of the phase. Some of my dumbass friends went out to the bars in RO when the restrictions got lifted, and now a royal oak bar is a listed hot spot. No thank you, ill continue working from home and shopping with w mask and avoiding large public places. Too many dumbasses out there.
5th Ave. My friends usually go to Rock on 3rd, but I dont know how you can social distance in that tiny bar. And they usually end up bar hopping so don't know if they ended up at 5th Ave or not
5th Avenue still exsists? Is Woody's also in business? I haven't been out in Royal Oak in a long time.
I've lived in Royal Oak for about 5 and a half years now, dont think I've gone to a Royal Oak bar in the last 3 years more than once or twice. Ill go up to Renshaws in Clawson or 24 seconds in Berkley for fights sometimes.
Anyone know if this is still a problem? We're going up and staying on Sutton's Bay for a week starting the 11th and I wasn't sure if we should bring our own groceries.
indoor bar service is shut down again, as well as hair salons Spoiler j/k about the hair salons, Vinegar. Burke>Winston
What's the definition of bars in MI? Is it based on alcohol vs food sales or just the presence of a full kitchen?
I missed the indoor service caveat which is kinda nice. Bars in NC can't even operate their patios yet. Oddly breweries with no food service at all lobbied to open at the same time as restaurants and were allowed to ...
