Again understates how important depth is for this team moving forward, though no one can replace him, he should be able to have a quality backup so he doesn't have to start all the time
Rooting interest guide for the next week. If United fails to get six points from the next two, really don't see a path forward to the CL outside winning Europa. Further, given quality of opponent - United should expect 18/19 points out of 21 available from the final 7 games. 6/30 - United beats Brighton 7/1 - Everton beats Leicester, Norwich beats Arsenal, West Ham beats Chelsea 7/2 - Sheffield beats Tottenham 7/4 - United beats Bournemouth, Crystal Palace beats Leicester, Arsenal beats Wolves, Watford beats Chelsea
McTominay and Fred on, Matic and Bruno off. Move Pogba forward. Bruno definitely looking tired after getting that 2nd goal.
Shaw has been playing well imo. Only criticism of him from me is that he often takes an extra touch instead of hitting a first time pass. Slows the attack down sometimes. That being said, he's been great getting forward when the opportunity is there and I'm not sure Williams can match that right now. Side note: AWB was superb again today.
Rashford, Greenwood, Martial, Pogba, Bruno... I can fuck with that front five all day. No transfer has had an impact like Bruno since RVP
I can't stop watching that 3rd goal. Just counterattacking at its finest. Only 12 seconds and 5 total touches to go from Maguire's header in our own box to the back of the Brighton net.
I’ve been enjoying vintage de Gea saves....but yeah that whole sequence was Matic pressure to start everything to the Matic pass to set Mason up then Mason setting the alley oop up just
I had this old full length champions league game in my Watch Later section on YT, from the B/R Sports account. It was there yesterday, gone today. I guess that means they won't be doing any more UEFA rights this season.
The 11 Final vs Barca. Some googling suggests the rights for the current season (which kicks back off in like 30 days) may not have been reallocated yet, meaning no one has the English language rights in US yet.
I wonder what lineup we trot out against LASK on Aug 5, which is 10 days after last league game and 4 days after a possible FA Cup final. The QF will follow 5 days later. Of note: Chelsea with a gimme today in the afternoon and Leicester at Everton starting shortly.
Considering the five goal advantage from the first leg, it's probably all youth squad players with maybe Greenwood and an oldie like Mata starting.
Normally yes, but a bunch of those guys were not renewed and are out as of yesterday, at least a couple from the Astana game are already gone. We'll have to see what contracts/extensions take place now. At worst, we'd see some from the U19 who were intentionally not released due to COVID. Also, Rooney with a FK goal for Derby as they pursue promotion, live on ESPN+.
Igaholo Mason James Mata Fred Mctominay Williams Bailly Lindelof Dalot Romero bench James Garner, Hannibal Mejbri, Andreas, Tuanzebe, Chong etc
I’ve been quite impressed with the talent our academy has produced for our first team. Rashford, Greenwood, Williams, McT. It’s been nice. I wonder if Greenwood is eventually going to transition to the 9, sooner rather than later. If we get Sancho, having that four to choose from for up top would be wonderful. I just would hate to see Greenwood get less playing time, but we need competition and depth to become a team to compete again. So many games so I’m sure everyone will get adequate playing time. Still not sold on Ole, is it the talent just rising now? I think he can be criticized for his substitutions previously but the last few games he’s made good decisions. Either way it’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed watching us play, and I think Bruno just pulled this team out of despair and now look at us.
Also Pogba just looks like a different player now. not having to do everything and working with a class player like Bruno has obviously made a huge difference. top 3 midfielders in the league: KDB, Bruno, Pogba imo.
