Just finished S3 last night. My only complaint was that they jumped around so much relative to the first two seasons until they got to E7 and E8. I found it more enjoyable when they stayed in one timeline for extended periods as it just allowed for more of a connection to the central characters. I understand they were covering a ton of ground obv. This is a show that I wished I had binged all 3 seasons together to keep some of the details fresh in my mind. I need to read a detailed synopsis of the whole show now. Overall I loved it and thought it was pretty perfect as far as the tone it continually set.
Hoping to start being able to binge this soon. Wife hated it so have to wait till I can occupy her so I can watch these all at once.
Finished last night. Definitely going to rewatch soon without the GF who I constantly had to keep informed of who people where and think it made me miss some small parts of conversations. Loved the season though and the last 3 episodes do a great job of unmindfucking the first 5. at one point there were like 5 Martha’s that shit was hilarious. And Jonas being like “I’m wrong here” listen kid in Alt World you’re not fucking your aunt for starters do you want to go down the rest of the list of why you should just call Alt world your home? the in-family killing went from unfortunate mistakes in S1-2 to in S3
Also thought we were about to see Victorian Bartosz and Jonas 2.0 throw hands and I was dead certain there would be nothing but closed fist sissy slaps and headlocks
The ability of this show to nail the casting of the characters is mind blowing. The resemblance of characters throughout the different ages is crazy.
Cleft Lip trio made for a really great antagonist / evil figure. All three of them nailed it. Still think Noah played the part of the "bad guy" the best for seasons 1&2 while they painted him in that light. Spoiler also thought him and Jonas 2.0 were gonna kiss for a second after he choked him
Just finished. Still trying to wrap my head around it. Spoiler: Scene I can’t fully comprehend so, Elisabeth kidnaps Charlotte who is her daughter and mother with the help of Charlotte who is still her mother and daughter..correct? What world is this? Do they bring baby Charlotte to both new worlds?
They don't really touch on it in Alt-world that I recall that was just showing how it went down in regularville. But yes that's what happened to get keep that mother-daughter loop constant and presumably how she fell into Tannehaus's lap and why he couldn't tell the young 1950s version in his shop where she came from/who her parents were.
Spoiler: from the internet it belonged to the OG blind tannehaus in the 1888 scenes. His mother's name was Charlotte so it was for her originally. Current Tannehaus gave detective charlotte her name to cover up/remembrance of his dead/missing grand daughter from the car accident Elisabeth in the future names her daughter charlotte in remembrance of her mom that she thought died in the apocalypse, who got kidnapped and taken back to give to Tannehaus = cycle watch cycle: Cleft Lip Gang takes the watch from Blind Tannehaus and give it to Eve She gives it to Space Martha to give to Middle Age Jonas along with the letter he burned back in 1888 Middle Age Jonas keeps it until he is Adam, who gives it to Old Noah once he joins the team Noah gives it to young elisabeth in the woods and says it's her mothers Elisabeth keeps it until 2053 when they kidnap the baby and take it back - gives the watch to Tannehaus along with the child
right, but the watch itself is a paradox, right? So tannehaus himself is a paradox and shouldn’t exist in the real world? Am I reading way to much into it? real Charlotte is never found. The accident and her disappearance are part of the plan to keep the cycle going. Tannehaus never creates the machine if Charlotte never disappears. Real Charlotte is taken back in time and is tannehaus grandma? Great grandma? And is given the watch. new Charlotte shows up, and is given the name just like old Charlotte was given the name. As remembrance of someone thought dead but really just travelled through time
I have one episode left to watch, will probably finish tonight. Tomorrow at the latest. Some thoughts. Spoiler Sad to say, but I'm disappointed at this season. I really think the scope is too big at this point. I loved how it expanded beyond "present" Winden in season 1 and how it went even further back in season 2. But incorporating an alternate world, which brings about so many versions of each character, some seemingly months or weeks apart, is just too much. And I think it retroactively lessens a TON of huge moments. Jonas and Martha's relationship isn't anywhere near as important when there's this second version. Pretty bummed. I thought season 2 was awesome but it's sprawled out of control at this point. Hoping I'll like the finale a lot and that this paragraph becomes something to make fun of.
Answers in quote - this is mostly coming from a thread on r/Dark that dug into it (for the watch qustion) the 2nd paragraph is my thoughts/understanding of how it played out). spoilered for reasons
Well shit I think I like the way I had it better honestly. The names being what they were for the same reason, the watch traveling through time like the st Christopher necklace and even tannehaus son saying he had a “feeling” I took for the same deja vu feelings others had and Hannah’s dream at the very end
Just finished and my head hurts. Few things Spoiler -How did Claudia figure all this out? That went completely over my head and I'm very confused on how she came back from seemingly dying. How did she know that when the apocalypse happens that's when there's a loop hole and how the hell did she figure out the original world? -What was the the deal with Martha/Jonas in the portal/Interstellar looking shit where the younger selves were looking at them, but the parents couldn't see? -I don't completely get peoples motivations to stay on the loops. Adam/Eve I can get, I guess. Eve just wants her son to live and will keep everyone on loops to see that through. Adam I'm assuming wants to keep the loop so he knows where all the chess pieces are so he can end the shit once and for all. But what about Magnus and Franziska/Tronte/Agnus/etc. Seems like a lot of blind faith going on. -Anything more to read into the final dinner scene other than them just toying with us a bit? -Woller about to tell his eye story at the end and getting cut off was hilarious
Will be watching episode 5 tonight. Looks like the second half of the season all have like 9.9 on IMDB. I am excite.
Finale was really good and now I wanna rewatch the season because I’m guessing I’ll enjoy it a lot more with knowledge of everything.
Just finished episode six. Whoever was in charge of the casting for this show deserves to have an award named after them.
Starting ep 7. Also I just went to the Wiki page and this is an actual thing on there to help explain things lol. Spoiler
Just finished. Thought the finale was incredible. And literally right before the dinner table scene I started thinking about his eye and how it was never explained. Then suddenly poof there he is just chilling with his pals and lover and I got my hopes up. Dammit.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bu...netflix-shows-twisted-chronology-27629441/amp the entire series’s events in chronological order. Was just looking for a season 3 but having seasons 1&2 in there are pretty cool as well.
Show needs to be a blueprint for TV dramas in general. They planned everything down to the season release dates on day 1. No dragging out unnecessary episodes and seasons for a money grab or because the writers don’t know where to go next Writing doesn’t get influenced by trying to please the fans that want to see it one way or another between seasons And if you look hard enough I’m pretty sure every mysterious event / question has an answer right there for you
I did the research, based on IMDB ratings of episodes with at least 1,000 ratings. The 20 top ranked series finale episodes are as follows. I'm only counting live action shows, there's a lot of Manga on the list, and a miniseries or anthology also does not count (sorry Chernobyl) 15. Breaking Bad 20. Mr. Robot 24. Six Feet Under 38. The Americans 44. Person of Interest 48. Hannibal 55. The Office 61. Scrubs* 63. Dark 78. 12 Monkeys 96. Justified 127. Anne with an E (what??) 129. How to Get Away with Murder 139. Friends 145. Suits 160. Nathan For You 164. Daredevil 168. The Big Bang Theory 192. Banshee 205. Parks and Recreation since the reunion special shouldn't count *I refuse to recognize that final season as part of the original Scrubs canon.
Sorry random side question but did mr robot suddenly get epic in season 3? Think we saw two seasons and it was alright but nothing I’d put on any list personally. edit I probably read it wrong. Carry on.
Seasons 3 and 4 of Mr Robot are fantastic. They completely stick the landing with the last season and finale.
I would also say season four of Mr. Robot is GOAT tier and the seventh episode of that season is the eighth highest rated episode in IMDB history. It’s third for live action shows surpassed only by Ozymandias (Breaking Bad) and the Chernobyl finale. So that makes it second for an ongoing series (as in not anthology or miniseries). Apparently the 2018-19 season of Attack on Titan and the final season of Star Wars Clone Wars must have been amazing because they own five of the top six episodes.
For a variety of reasons (season 2 not being as good/lot of personal stuff going on in my life) I think I watched one episode of Mr. Robot in season 3 and never got back into it. Seems like I need to change that.
Season 3 score by Ben Frost now available I'm sure some of you were wondering because it's amazing, but the song when teenage Joan and Martha have their final scene together is on here, it's titled Ob Irgendwas Von Uns Bleibt
The third season is really good, lowest rated episode on IMDB is just an 8.5, 6 of the 10 are 9.0+ But the fourth is an all-time classic. 9 of the 13 episodes are rated at least 9.2 with six of them being at least a 9.6, by far the worst episode is still a pretty good 8.4. The season has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 96% audience score
It also showed that Esmail had a plan from the beginning. Obviously not to the level of Dark and there was some stuff that was written on the fly, but the show started knowing how it was going to finish and it shows in the final season.
