Spoiler I'm still forming my opinion. I didn't like it as much as Goodnight Mommy. But I do see what the directors were trying to do with this piece. I have zero sympathy for the children in this film. In particular the daughter pissed me off a good bit of the film. On a different note, what father leaves his SO (that really don't like his new SO) in a remote cabin with his two kids for a handful of days?
Whoa! I See You is on amazon prime right now. Ton of weird ass twists. Really pulls the rug out from you.
Just finished. Highly enjoyable. Guy who wrote it played teenage Dexter and this was his first screenplay. Not bad for his first one.
Any other particularly good horror movies to watch that have out in the 21st century? Not interested in the slasher variety or the kind that rely a bunch on jump scares, and I've already seen all the A24 horror movies.
I think the best I can think of in recent years is Cabin in the Woods. Holy shit, that’s 9 years old.
not sure I’d really label the green room horror but it’s fuckin borderline and that was an excellently done movie IMO. hush was fuckin awesome too.
Has anyone mentioned POSSUM yet? hyper depressing horror from the creator/star of Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace
Watched As Above So Below recently. Movie legitimately made me feel anxious. Enjoyed it so much, I deep dived into found footage horror, but can't find anything that's nearly as good.
Just finished it. End up having to stop watching it last night because of shit. Was pretty good. I like the ones with twists like this that aren't 100% predictible.
I saw it in the Theatre (remember those!?!?) and really enjoyed it. Did you watch the regular version or extended?
Going through this thread to find movies to add to my watch list. Do you know which year this one is? I looked up "The Green Inferno" on IMDB, but there are two and both are horrors it appears.
Green Inferno is a terrible movie all around. The 40-minute build up to the group traveling into the jungle is painful to sit through. Then if you make it through the that, the rest of the movie comes off as goofy. Only redeeming quality would be if you were just really into watching people eat people, then you could focus on that and ignore how shitty the rest of the movie was.
Started Hereditary without any idea of what the movie was going to be like. Just finished the car scene and I’m about as taken back as I’ve ever been watching a movie.
Yeeess! That shit is legit stick with you kind of stuff. I gasped in the theater along with many other people
Watching Hereditary in 4K right now. My second time seeing the movie, first time was in the theater. AMA
