I've been watching all the past Austrian races available on YouTube. It's fun. Can't wait for some real action.
I've been a McLaren fan since the 90s and am looking forward to Ricciardo moving over next season. He's been one of my favorites for the last few years.
So Red Bull launched a protest over Mercedes Dual Axis Steering. the half second advantage they currently have on the entire field may be the result of this system.
Interesting to hear Ferrari basically say they fucked up the design of the car in over the winter and after the testing they had the shutdown so they couldn't do the work needed to fix the issue in time for the season. They belive an upgrade will be ready for Hungry. Seems like they will struggle till then.
Man Haas sucks. I really hoped they had worked through some of the issues with the car this year. Mags doesn’t even get out of Q1. Also feel bad for George Russell. He’s really talented and that Williams car is stinky trash.
Racing point just has two sponsor driven drivers so yeah that won’t happen I could see him at Renault or mclaren in 2022
All the Ferrari dependent cars look like shit... Now the Ferrari itself looks like a midpack car. I know people around F1 think very highly of Binotto but the fire will be getting very hot coming out of Hungary if this car is battling in the middle of the pack.
I can't see Renault selling both seats to the Mercedes. With Ocon, Russel and Hamilton not a lot of options for these guys
also... Mercedes being .5 seconds quicker than the field is pretty depressing. Especially given this isn't a track they normally have great success.
Man that was one entertaining race. Happy for Lando... especially since I think he's the better McLaren driver despite Sainz being the Ferrari driver. Speaking of Ferrari...lucky af. They didn't have anything close to a podium worthy car today. Lastly Red Bull earned some karma today with how both their drivers ended up retired.
Leclerc drove a fantastic race passing both Perez and Norris late. To get 2cnd place with that shit car was impressive.
Vettel spoke after q2 saying he thought they had a better racing car than qualifying car. Seems to be right. Also, I think Vettel has gone the way of Merlin...he’s lost the edge.
Great race today! For years I’d hear the guys talk about F1 on Top Gear/Grand Tour and never really cared to pay attention to it. Then I found the Netflix show during quarantine and I’m all in. I wonder how many new fans they picked up from the show like me. I even did the F1 TV 2.99 a month package to watch the old races. It’s odd but I don’t really dislike anyone. I just want exciting races, which is what we got today. It’s been wild to see McLaren’s turn around in the last couple of years. Zac Brown must be pretty good
Think he wins that race had Lewis not spun him. I think they have been forced to strip the Mission Win Now shit because it’s a front for the cigarette company Marlboro. Since his spin out in Getmany
Agree with both of these. Was really disappointed when this happened, he made a solid move and was sent packing.
That’s the one! It was very well done, and from an outsiders perspective it did a good job of presenting the sport to a non-fan
The good news is we get to run this same track next week. Should be fun seeing how it plays out with a week of data
I don’t think he cares. he doesn’t seem the type that would drive for a lower level team anyway. I bet he retires at the end of the season.
I don't think a lower team would want him... Its not like he would be paying for a seat nor is he fast enough to make any difference.
Love F1 in the rain. Hope it sticks around for tomorrow. Ferrari brings updates and they result in being... checks notes... slower. What a shit show
I’m just happy that McLaren and some of the other midfield teams are so much more competitive. Tired of Mercedes.
Ferrari absolutely falling apart is not what I expected from this season. and hell yeah to the rain. Keep it coming.
I'm definitely loving Ferrari being trash to start and McLaren doing well. This is the last year of the Renault partnership before McLaren go back to a Mercedes power unit, so I wasn't expecting them to do as well as they have. Pleasant surprise that's been awesome.
He’s used to winning and fruitful partnerships in NASCAR so losing a shitload of money and running at the back can’t feel good.
They new cost regulations though may keep him in. Hard to walk away when it’ll be moving to both a more competitive on track environment, but also a more cost effective one as well.
