It’s really just another ID channel type show (without the hokey narration or re-enactments). It’s interesting enough but it’s not really a true throw-back to Unsolved Mysteries other than the title sequence. I wish they’d done what made the old show so special; they should have made each show a hodgepodge of cases (murder/supernatural/alien/crimes) like the old show and they should have done creepy, dramatically lit and acted re-enactments. I am very glad, however, they didn’t try to replace Robert Stack and just left the show without a host. I think that was a smart decision.

Had to have been one of the 2 serial killers, right? I just don't think it is Rob. He's a bizarro weirdo, and probably not a good guy, but the logistics don't seem right. That timetable is weird, and when you put it with the car thing, it just doesn't make sense for it to be him imo.

How did the guy end up on falling through the roof on the first episode? I'm convinced it was homicide. Attempted house break-ins. Leaving the house in a rush. All employees put under a gag order.

Was I the only one that watched that and thought he might’ve just gotten drunk and drowned in the creek? The water levels changing seemed to possibly support that. I don’t think it’s impossible that he was murdered by any stretch that just stuck out to me as a glaring possibility

I'd say 95% murder, he probably found something he wasn't supposed to at work and they killed him. The best friend/boss reaction makes zero sense for a lifelong friend who "killed himself."
Only 5% remains because his weird letter reads like a guy have a psychotic break and he might have just lost his mind and killed himself, on purpose or not.

Until the US fine part I was thinking given the proximity to DC that I could see that place being a front for the CIA or something but thats going way down the conspiracy train and likely he just was thinking of whistleblowing or something.

Just watched and I think this was probably a suicide. His obsession with secret societies and that note make me feel like he had some paranoia and possibly even schizophrenia. It sounds like he was having a manic episode and the phone call put him over the edge

Just my opinion. The gag order is strange but I’m thinking that was a company already in turmoil trying to protect themselves. Idk much about how those work tho really

    Unsolved Mysteries

    Episode 1
He killed himself, he ran and jumped off the building like in the movie the game, I think someone posted the reddit post in the other thread but it makes a lot more sense than him being murdered and thrown that far. The note on the back of the computer basically sealed it for me that he had a complete mental break

    Episode 2
Her husband killed her, hired someone to abduct her. That man is clearly insane. The day after his wife is missing he changed the locks and didn't allow her son in the home, he knew she was never coming back.

    Episode 3
Holy fuck can't believe that guy killed his entire family and then just went on with life for another week+. I'm not sure if he killed himself in those kills, in the sea, or if he's living in another country but I just can't even comprehend being able to murder your entire family and then just go on with life

Has home game been discussed? I've watched 4 episodes and it's fantastic. Docuseries looking at obscure sports around the world.

First episode is some rugby boxing hybrid in Italy.

Second Episode Highland Games in Scottland.

Third episode free diving in the Phillipines.

All fantastic. Free diving episode gave me a mild panic attack.

Dude was offed or died in some kind of game/ritual gone awry. His glasses and phone couldn't have made it through that fall unscathed. Not to mention his friend and employer, who is a known scam artist, refused to allow anyone to cooperate.

    episode 1
Yeah, that was something I questioned - but I don't know why the detective didn't go up on top of the roof and throw a few pairs of glasses, and a few phones off the top and see the damage done to those and compare. Some of those old phones were indestructible.

Maybe him and his friend were going to do it together and the friend chickened out after he watched his friend die then he planted the glasses, phone, etc. Who knows.

Really wish the episode would've done the math to see could someone jump that far at that height - on reddit someone said he'd need to be going 11 mph off the roof to clear the 40 feet.

Can we just make this the Netflix and Prime thread, because more people seem to read this thread than the Cutting the Cable thread, and almost everyone who has Netflix also has Prime.

Anyway, for those of you who liked Free Solo, Meru, and Dawn Wall. This documentary on Prime may interest you.

Edit: Even watching these trailers makes my hands sweaty and tingly. Embarrassing.

Edit: Were they allowed to bring bear spray? They're all so scared of predators, and bear spray works on cougars as well. http://fwp.mt.gov/recreation/safety/wildlife/lion/lionBearSpray (Though, I realize that if a cougar attacks, you might not see it coming)
