I had a shipping issue with them once and they shipped me out a new one ASAP after I filed with shipping company. I’d do that if you haven’t already.
I literally just pulled up the email again and it changed to saying it would be delivered today. Not holding out hope since it’s 8 pm but I’ll give it a few more days and then contact them. Still have yet to receive my shipment notification for my wall mount rack though
My home gym is like 150 square feet, and I’m thinking about getting a wall mounted fan to help cool it down during the summer. Have any of y’all gone that route? If like to get a quiet one because I usually have the tv on while I’m working out and would like to actually hear it.
a good squat/deadlift session puts myself in a better place than pretty much anything else. Baby bro missed his 500# trap bar today but he's close, I'll get him there.
One more month in a catabolic state. Currently sitting at 210. Hopefully will be around 195 come August 1st then the goal it to attempt to recomp* and stay around there or sub 200 for the remainder of they year. I feel fatter & weaker than normal at 210 b/c lack of lifting during Covid. Plan to do a few Oly meets next year at 89kg. I should easily be able to qualify and maybe I'll do some American Open 2 or 3 in the middle or latter part of the year depending on location. Spoiler: * may or may not have additional aid from Clemson sponsored bath & hair products
I’ve dropped 8% body fat since January, ama. (Hint: just lift stuff and stop eating sugar, that’s pretty much it.)
Yeah. At a minimum 12. Wife is having a baby mid month and might throw me off some, but hope not. Lift+Cardio, Keto, - 500/750 deficit, T3 can drop weight quickly. Yes, I'm losing muscle, hense catabolic state
Ideally baby comes Friday after I work out so we can be at the hospital over the weekend and I can bale back in the gym on Monday. But really, I'm hoping I can keep a little bit of a routine. It's an 75 min 3 days a week. Not a massive commitment right now.
Kinda helpless feeling for men. I can't do much to help her constantly being uncomfortable. Hopefully it's an uneventful delivery
Be thinking about where you want to be positioned in the delivery room. It’s an awesome thing, but some things you can’t unsee...
That's always the plan. For my first they were having some issues so one of the nurses or anesthesia or somebody (it was almost 15 years ago, I don't remember who) had to come up to the head of the bed so I went by the doc. I saw things I was not prepared for.
Old man rants about youtube ahead... Just noticed that elitefts only had 86k youtube subscribers. Larry Wheels? 1 MILLION. Bradley Martyn 2.5 MILLION. Damn kids... That is all.
Why get thoughtful advice from decades of expertise when you can watch an ego lift that doesn’t help you at all?
Saw a record gear aided bench press on IG. I should have posted it here. I think it was like 1,100# or something. The Slingshot or whatever it is that they use is fucking hilarious. The fabric is so tight his arms are pinched in together and needed assistance to spread his arms to be able to grip the bar. Props for the weight, but the gear is just abusrd.
I've just never had a desire to use gear. That's not a knock on the guys who use it, it's just not for me. Maybe if I get to the point to where I think I've pulled all the raw strength I can out of this old body, I'll switch over to equipped lifting to try it out. It seems like it's almost a different sport to me. And the slingshot in particular...pass.
Don't like Larry but at least his stuff is weightlifting related, Bradley Martyn hangs out with a bunch of college morons that go around doing stupid gimmicks. He's obviously rich af but what are you doing. /kindaoldman
My curl bar finally came. Now I await to see when my rack will finally ship. If the plates I want finally come back in stock we may have a stew goin
Trying to find something like this for my gym renovating to put my plates on the wall and save on some floor space by dumping the plate tree. Everything I’m seeing is sold out. Anyone know of similar options or whatever that are available?
All the Louisiana USAPL meets just got cancelled through November. If my September meet in Hattiesburg get cancelled looks like I'll be shooting for one in December.
Do sissy squat machines work? Want to get a leg machine or just exercises that don’t tax my core since no longer have leg press or extension. DB leg curls aren’t bad I’m squatting 2-3x a week so not just being a bitch that wants an easy out
If you’re programming it in the same fashion you would a unilateral lower body exercise, yes. I.e. lunges, split squats for 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps.
I've been a pussy that does touch n go deads and bench for as long as I've been lifting, changed my ways today. Hopefully it helps my get off as I've cheated it for too long.
How accurate are those body fat scales, bc I'm lost a out 15 lbs, look very much different, and it says I've lost .5 percent body fat lol. Holiday got me, but getting back to diet. I'm struggling getting my protein a day. I get 80 to 100 at 165 lbs.
You'd have to change your avatar if you started using it... Spoiler It's been one of the most studied supplements around. It's cheap. You don't need some expensive crap, just get a tub of creatine monohydrate. You aren't going to really "suffer" if you don't use it, but there is upside and virtually zero downside. https://examine.com/supplements/creatine/
Spoiler: Stuff I usually do this Breakfast-kodiak waffle or eggs 250 to 300 calories and 13 to 20g of protein Ppl workout Whey protein shake with fairlife milk (130 calories and 28g of protein Lunch typically a frozen dinner around 200 calories and 20g of protein Ab workout 10 to 20 minutes peloton app Whey protein shake with fairlife milk (130 calories and 28g of protein Dinner is the wildcard, I usually eat most of my calories here, but my wife is picky and gf so it's usually some sort of meat, carb, and veggie. Last night was 1 bonlees skinless chicken thigh, broccoli, and spaghetti squash with mozzarella/margerine I estimate my dinner is typically 700 to 1000 calories depending on the night. 165 and 179 on the right. Been stuck at 165 since starting to weight lift a month ago.
Ok yeah I'm using it currently. I know the basics of it, just kept seeing comments on it so forgured I'd ask if there was something I'm missing
Nice work! I'd say most scales are bullshit outside weight Creatine is a running joke here. It's honestly the #1 supplement anyone should take. It's absurdly cheap and has a fuck load of benefits. $16 for over 6 months of servings.
Dumbbells, yes if you’ve got some heavy enough to elicit a response. Body weight, ehhhhh depends on where you’re starting, but you can only progress those so much. not really accurate at all. Hydration can wildly skew the numbers. Dexa scans are the best commonly available body fat measurement tools
They are relatively expensive and you'd probably get almost the exact same benefit taking caffeine pills and creatine. Throw in a some beta alanine (start small, the side effects are awful) I've taken some BCAA ones when I lifted in the morning and was doing IF.
