Stopped at the start of episode 7 for some detox. If it keeps this pace.....probably going to be my GOTY
I'm still on chapter 2 and really digging it. It's gonna be a long one for me with work being so crazy. Will probably only get a few hours in each week until mid December. I thought about waiting but was just too excited.
Still on chapter 5 I have single handily built a highway system from the distribution center south of Lake Knot to the distribution center south of Mountain Knot. All to find out there’s still a large way to go from the distribution center south of Mountain Knot to the actual city I’m 56 hours in I’m going to be dead before I finish
Building road past the distribution center south of Mountain Knot current auto paver needs 3420 ceramics I have no idea how I’m gonna find that much at this point. I’ve contributed 70k materials to rebuild 26 sections of road send help
~5 hours in. Color me confused as to why people think this is anywhere near as slow as RDR2 or for anyone thinking it would take 10 hours to open up. There have been tense moments galore in the first 5.
Finished Chapter 8 last night. MULES damn near got me. I refuse to kill in this game, though, so lots of evasion and incapacitating. Feels like the last several chapters is going to be a mad dash to the end, heavy with narrative. Honestly can’t wait to get home from work and keep playing. No doubt my game of 2019. Remains to be seen how this ends up in my top 10 all timer list. Going to depend largely on whether Kojima sticks the landing. I have a lot of faith that he does.
I don’t know how to answer this for anyone. The gameplay is so incredibly polarizing. I want to recommend it for everyone with the hopes that even half of the people attempting it are compelled to stick with it. If you’re fortunate to find the gameplay loop fun and engaging, you’re in for a hell of an experience. If you aren’t engaged by the gameplay, still find a way to watch the cinematics because the world-building and story is outstanding.
It's on sale now for $24 in the PS Store. I've been scared to pay the $60 thinking I may not like it but I think I'm gonna try it for half price.
I got it a few weeks ago when it was $30. Just started and it’s deeply weird (no surprise) but I’m really enjoying it so far.
I just finished getting the distribution center online and I really like this so far. The story seems really out there and I haven't made sense of it yet, but I guess that'll come later on. The gameplay is oddly entertaining. I just unlocked recycling but I dont know if I should be hoarding shit or recycling so I'm hoarding for now.
Hoarding works early on. You’ll find better stuff than what you can make with schematics. Later on, I broke down nearly everything.
These powered leg supports are maybe even more game changing than vehicles. Although the trucks from mule camps are proving very useful for highway and bridge building. Enjoying the shit out of this still. Just got my highway out past the Craftsman.
T-minus 2 weeks until our PC brethren get to experience this. Been waiting 6 months to talk about this with my best friend who was holding out to play it ultra widescreen, which is admittedly going to look awesome.
Pretty proud of my zip line system through the various prepper/scientist bunkers in the mountains. Currently two road sections from having the highway completely done too. There's something oddly satisfying about getting all this infrastructure in place.
Explain the gameplay loop, please. Are we talking like Wildlands, Division, AC type missions? Or more along the lines of Days Gone story, RDR, Horizon...? how customizable is the building of infrastructures?
gameplay loop is stealth deliveries basically. its really really strange but oddly satisfying. building things is more "i build this thing here" or "i move these materials here to upgrade/repair this thing" not too much customization but there's certainly some.
I just finished the story. He wrapped it up better than I thought but one thing I'm still confused about is Spoiler When you walk out after taking Lou out his incubator at the incinerator, it's raining but it's not timefall anymore. Presumably because you talked the EE out of the last stranding. But BTs and all this shit started because of the EE bringing Sam back into the world of the living. What changed? Sam is still there and I'd have thought that connection between the living and dead would still exist.
