I agree that it’s weird. I don’t have some aversion to them or anything either, so I’m not going out of my way to avoid them.
Someone told me it takes a gallon of water to produce a single pistachio. I have no idea if that is true, but it would explain the exorbitant price.
Wikipedia says they’re in the cashew family and most commonly grown in Iran but did not clear up this water issue
Feel like if I bought unshelled pistachios I'd have a terrible time regulating how many I eat in one sitting
But they are so good and worth unregulated eating. The sweet chili or w/e pistachios are the best snack
That’s what it was, misremembered. “To grow one almond requires 1.1 gallons of water, and to grow a pound takes 1,900 gal/ lb[1].” “It takes 1,362 gallons of water to produceone pound of pistachios.”
I only recently got in to sweet potatoes fwiw, didn't much care for them on the few occasions I'd tried them before, but started regularly eating them due to their health value and I've grown to be a big fan
Used to hate them as a kid, but I’m to the point where I enjoy them plain with nothing on them. I’m not going to pretend that I’m some health nut, as I’m a disgusting pig, but they really are good on their own. However, I am firmly on the team that says regular fries are superior to sweet potato fries.
Okay AlternativeFactsRule, you are clearly in a bad space today, but sweet potato fries are our friend, and the Barenaked Ladies are triple platinum, are you?
Get the balsamic and goat cheese sweet potato fries from Chomp in Rochester. Report back with your apology
There are few things that anger me more in life than when I meet my wife somewhere for lunch, she orders for me before I get there and she opts for sweet potato fries instead of regular fries as my side because she likes them better.
There’s only one way I like sweet potato fries. A local place tops them with brown sugar, marshmallow topping and candied pecans. Totally , but so good.
If you buy these and don't enjoy them then I'll refund your purchase price out of my own pocket. Way better than sweet potato fries I've had in most restaurants. https://www.target.com/p/alexia-all...sweet-potato-seasoned-fries-20oz/-/A-13305004 Spoiler I will not actually do this because I don't trust you people to not take advantage of my offer.
Add some craisins next time before you pour the gravy. The gravy rehydrates them and they taste insane.
Yup. Cook them on an already heated pizza stone or iron skillet for maximum crispy deliciousness. The chipotle seasoned ones are basically crack.
Haven't had the chipotle ones but I fiend over these already so I'll have to try them too. I mean I'm not joking when I say these things are a highlight of my meals sometimes. Like to eat them with pulled pork BBQ sandwiches and they absolutely slap.
