Fell off the wagon last night. Long week and boss took some of us out for drinks. Got drunk and stopped at BK on the way home. I can feel a nasty poop coming on.
Two things: 1. Just sip bourbon, vodka, etc and you’ll be fine. Fucked up quickly, but fine. Then just eat the meat and cheese after. 2. We all fall off tge wagon. I had a terrible week and gained 8-10 lbs. But I just ran 6 miles and am having coffee with cream for breakfast and back on the train.
Heading to a cook out tonight where I am going to try to behave. Wife picked up drinks earlier. Rolling in with the Mich Ultras for me and she got a salted caramel porter from a local brewery. Masculinity is at an all time high over here.
Fucked around and made a keto pizza tonite on a frozen cauli crust def not to be mistaken for your favorite neighborhood pizzerias but it hit the spot Genoa, pepperoni (that’s all I had ) fresh tomato, drizzled with pesto and hit with parm at the end if you hit the fresh tomato with a shit ton of salt for ~half hour and then pat dry they won’t make your pizza watery
These are pretty decent for less than half the price of Atkins, Quest, and Slimfast. 5g net carbs and 120-130 calories. Ingredients are fine from what I could tell.
70 cal 5g net carbs and really good. I was shocked. It’s as close to an actual brownie as I think we’re going to get on keto. https://www.target.com/p/fiber-one-chocolate-fudge-brownies-10-6oz-12ct/-/A-14750319
Anyone have a good bread/bun recommendation? Preferably something I could find for quick delivery? found a couple on Amazon but they aren’t available for delivery for 2 weeks.
Speaking of aldi bread does anyone else get stomach aches or keto flu symptoms from it? I enjoy the hell out of a sandwich with it but it’s almost not worth it
Ordered the Sola hot dog and hamburger buns. 6 carbs per bun. Had hot dogs earlier this week. Not bad at all. Taste a lot like the bread you get at Outback, honestly. Doing burgers tonight. Not something I'll use daily but a fat burger sounds good right now.
Tbh I’ve gotten real used to no buns and I’ll probably do it at least part time when I’m back on a more normal diet. See spicy Popeyes sandwich sans bun.
About 20 without a bun, based on the math I did. 400 calories for the chicken and mayo. I don’t do pickles.
Got these today. 2 for $55 after tax on sale. The sustained release is supposed to make for a good meal replacement option. 3g net carbs isn’t too bad. Got one Samoa and one thin mint. Mixed up a shot glass worth of each with unsweetened almond milk and so far I like thin mint better. It’s closer to the real cookie taste. Samoa has coconut chunks. https://www.gnc.com/girl-scouts/414809.html?cgid=girl-scouts#start=1
A fwe snack things I don't think I've seen posted that I rotate through. 3 total carbs on the yogurts. Basically a Greek yogurt with a hint of the flavor. I eat them as is or make little a parfait/bowl with a few berries and nuts/flax/chia. Get these two from Costco. The cheap Costco protein bars are pretty good too. As said before they are essentially a quest bar, but are about $0.90 each which I think is as cheap as you can get. These Munk Pack are the best granola bar I've had. They are closer to a chewy granola bar. Haven't had a nut and seed one but I'm sure they're good too. There seem to be a lot of good bars cropping up, most are a little smaller than a quest but have mct oils and fewer carbs, etc As with all this specialty stuff its hard to justify regularly buying some of it. I did try both magic spoon cereal and the high key cereal. I like the high key one a little better but both are good. Just crazy expensive. The high key are all rice krispie kind of shape and are actually very good sprinkled on other stuff like a bowl of keto ice cream. You can stretch a box that way. When I ate an actual bowl I did almond milk and a splash of cream. You can eat a $12 box quick like that.
Tried these with water. Almond milk or something else is a must. It’s worth the 30 calories and 1 carb.
well I'm on week two of Keto. my wife and I are doing it together. I like living on meat/cheese/eggs for the most part but all the prep does get old. I can't just throw together a sandwich anymore. we are both working from home so we are constantly baking chicken or salmon with a big veggie side. Hardest part is not eating my kid's leftovers. At 3 and 1, they leave a lot of waffles and chicken nuggets that I programmed myself to finish daily. Stupid habit. Anyways I'm 6'-0" 215 at 30 years old. Been around this size for 4 years now. I hovered around 210 and up to 225, but never much higher. I spent much of my 20s around 230 drinking and eating whatever I wanted. That unfortunately led to Fatty liver and gout. so now i'm trying to get my shit together so I don't have huge issues down the road. We have the keto strips and I go in and out of Ketosis. It definitely hasn't stuck as i've probably gone slightly over 20 grams on a lot of days. I started at 220 and lost 5 pounds the first few days but have plateaued since.
From what I’ve read and then seen on my own that is fine. I was worried I was losing it or never actually getting there, but the 105 lb says otherwise. I’m rolling with it.
Starting back on keto today. It’s been about a year and a half since I’ve done it but had good results last time. Hoping to drop 30-35 pounds by Christmas.
This has worked well for me so far. During tge week is easy. Eggs/sausage/bacon for a latr breakfast, skip lunch, carnivore dinner. Weekends are harder and I'll cheat probably 2 out of 3 weekends. Still down 17 lbs and I haven't been miserable or starving myself.
yes about 3 weeks in i'm afraid i've somewhat plateaued. still hovering around 215 after starting at 222. biggest issue so far has been constipation i also think sometimes i over do it on the cheese and turkey too, which is probably what leads to the aforementioned problem. But I'm definitely keeping it below 20g of carbs. I have the metallic taste in my mouth constantly and my pee always has ketones in it whenever I test. Also seeing crazy good energy in the gym every day.
Once you cheat it can take 2-7 days to get back into ketosis. A true keto diet and cheat days don't jibe. You might want to check your labs, consuming a lot of fats and not being in ketosis can be dangerous. I went though this myself awhile back.
I’ve been cheering a lot lately, but I’m keeping fats down in favor of more protein when I get back on the wagon. I’m probably not getting back in very long, but it helps me keep calories down.
Ready to jump back in following vacation next week. Have been maintaining around 210 for a while even though I’m not dieting and running a good bit instead.
Just stick with it and track closely to start. Check your total macros and make sure you’re eating enough fat. Sounds like you might not be if you’re constipated. The poops should be sliding out with ease for the most part. Try to get as much of your daily carbs as possible from greens/veggies or something else fresh like berries. Don’t worry about weighing yourself every day. At some point you won’t have to track as much or not at all. Adding in some form of IF is another option.
Going back in full-on tomorrow. I just had fast food and feel like dog shit. Going to try and make a solid month with no cheats. My longest stretch to date is around 6 weeks.
Just started today. Been kicking it around but decided why now. So far so good as I don’t really eat a ton of carbs. Typically my wife is the one who is very carb heavy on meals. Haven’t done the piss sticks or anything but just doing no carbs with meat, veggies, cheese and such.
For me it’s high carbs, anything fruit or with sugar more than like 3-4g, or daily calories over 1,500ish. The last part isn’t keto related, just my personal weight loss plan. Even on cheats I refuse to drink a calorie (ok, I’ll do 5-10 on a “zero” drink) or carb.
Broccoli. Raw or cooked, I can eat it plain but load up on cheese or dressing if you need help. Also try drinking more water.
