As long as they don’t do something stupid and name them the Kraken and stick with something that has a Seattle connection instead of a mythical North Atlantic sea monster.
After George Washington chopped down the tree and could not tell a lie he was forced into combat with a red wolf by his father. After a vicious battle, future President Washington refused to strike the death blow leading to him earning the respect of all red wolves. Thought we all learned that in 4th grade?
How about Washington Wolves over Redwolves. I like Washington Warriors too but I guess that gets you right back into problematic iconography
From what I can gather, Warriors, Redtails, and Redwolves have been msot popular in the public arena. We've heard they're going entirely away from the native american thing, which means Warriors is probably out. Redtails seems nice but I think there's too much of an opportunity for them to step in it with the Redtails using black people as mascots, it's just a difficult plan to execute. I think Redwolves is the most boring option and thus the safest.
Nothing, but I think there’s a desire to keep the “Red” part of the name for branding purposes. idk I just live in DC and follow the Redskins but have disavowed any fan ship until Snyder is no longer owner
You could be Washington Warriors and never depict what the actual warrior looks like. Wizards never use a magic wand or anything
Yeah, but the ultimate warrior's logo would make good helmet sticker Not to mention all the alternate jersey options
On second thought maybe stick with red. Washington Red Foxes Washington Red Scare Washington Red Death
Seems like the only way you land on "Red Wolves" is if you're dead set on keeping "Red" in the team name. I don't get why they'd want to do that.
Boy whoever came up with Cowboys probably felt so dumb the first time someone called them the Cowgirls.
have they considered warlocks? fits in well with the wizards, and they could use pairs of heaving breasts as their new iconography
