We're at best halfway decent without KDB on the pitch. Ederson had a terrible showing. VAR stole a goal from Aguero. Shitty day.
Have you not been partaking in Bundesliga? Outside City, I watch more Bundesliga than Prem. It’s more entertaining
Sterling and KdB showed up, but felt overall it was a bit sloppy for both squads. Sterling with a split second sooner on the first touch and then a quick lift to KdB would have been beautiful, still was just a little short. Hope Garcia is ok. But he didn't seem like he was moving....
It looked very similar to a lot of City games before the break if you ask me. Dominated possession, missed some chances in final third you thought they should have scored but still scored a few. It was nice to Raheem score and not have any real massive defensive breakdowns. Also glad to see Laporte out there. Real interested to see how the Sane situation plays out. I'm excited to see him play again, but it looks like again he may be on way out
I'm curious if we see Sane at all. I am doubting we do with him on his way out, why risk injury again on his end and we want to make sure we get a good return.
Since the restart Foden has 3 goals and an assist in 130 minutes of gametime. He also had a goal and 2 assists in his last 4 starts prior to restart
McCarthy is having a game, and some bad shot placement and luck as well... It would be nice if Jesus could start scoring
Pretty funny watching all the other big clubs managers crying to the media today. Now that it's cleared up, what targets do people expect City to go after? Obviously a top CB should be #1 priority. I don't think Jesus is the future as a solo striker, think he good be good in a partnership if Pep decided to go two up front, but either way a striker for the future has to be something to look at. Knowing Pep, a FB upgrade is possible for Mendy. I like Mendy, but injuries and occasional defensive lapses, I could see Pep looking to upgrade there. A Sane replacement is possible too. Don't think we go after any midfielders
There has been a ton of smoke for a while around Koulibaly. Also around Aké but he would possibly be depth and it seemed both could be possible. Pep seems to be high on Jesus so while the fans would like that, I’m not sure we see a move for a ST
saw somewhere that garcia was told he will be the #4 choice next year. he's been pretty good so shows that we're deadset on bringing in two high level guys (and presumably selling nico and stones)
ferran torres is the rumored sane replacement target according to the twitter detectives i saw on my TL
I like Jesus, just not sure he is a consistent enough scorer to be the #1 striker. Although Pep does like having a well rounded guy at ST and likes having multiple goal scoring options over one go to striker.
May possibly hold on to Stone or Otamendi. Not sure we will be able to get both out. If we can sell both, I would love to get 2 CB this offseason. But I would value an attacker before upgrading Stones/Otamendi as a 3rd CB Depending on if Pep wants to play Bernardo and Foden on Wings or at CM, we will probably need another person to add to that rotation. Or add a striker and play Jesus on the left some.
Koulibaly would be a HR signing though. An elite CB to pair with Laporte could make all the difference
With Laporte’s injuries this season, knowing we were a play away from Nico or Stones; strongly disagree
Not saying it isnt a need. I really like what I see from Garcia. But if we got Koulibaly, it would be nice to get another younger CB to develop behind them with Garcia. However Aguero has injury issues of his own, we are losing David Silva who will be replaced by someone in our squad who currently plays out wide quite a bit (Foden or Bernardo) and Sane is leaving with no replacement. In a perfect world you add both and could sell Otamendi and Stones. But if you can't dump them both I would prioritize a forward player and roll with one of them as the 4th option (I would play Garcia over them).
ST: Agüero and Jesus LW: Sterling and Foden RW: Mahrez, Silva and Foden CM: KDB, Foden, Silva and Gündogan DM: Fernandinho, Rodri and Gündogan LB: Mendy and Zinchenko RB: Walker and Cancelo CB: Laporte, Garcia, Fernandinho, Stones and Otamendi GK: Ederson and Steffen Let’s say Silva is the number 2 guy at CM behind KDB. You’ve got Foden as primary backup at LW/RW and then either primary or secondary backup CM with Gündogan There’s also been talk about the youth products and Braaf is THE GUY people talk about. There was an article on The Athletic about him and how accurate the Sancho comps are. They said pretty much any comparison at the same age, Braaf is going to look better. I would rather roll with him as an option on the wing and buy Aké than to buy a 3rd string winger or ST and have Otamendi/Stones in rotation
