I used this site 50pullups.com a few years ago. At the time I could do 6-8 in row and they were ugly, I followed this a few times in a row and it helped a lot. There’s also a great YouTube channel FitnessFaqs that had a good program if followed recently
Aiming for a 6 AM run starting in the upper 60s. Been doing a lot of trail running, 3-5ish miles. Gonna try to get 5 miles in on the road tomorrow for the first time in a while. Mainly been doing 3 or 4 miles during lunch. Want to ramp up to 7 or 8 mile road runs.
5 miles @ 2pm today Temperature 88 ℉ Humidity 69% Feels like 100 ℉ Counted over 100 of these guys who were out sunbathing during the run Spoiler
Got up at 5:30am today and got out there at 6:30am. 5.2 miles. First speed workout in a longass time. 6x400m w/ 400m recovery jog/walk in between, plus 1 mile warm up, 1 mile cool down.
Did 5.5 at lunch because I saw the weather was gonna be great all day. Gonna get another one in tomorrow with the weather looking 69 degrees at 10 AM.
Slower than I wanted, slower pace than my Sunday 7.2 but at my age I need a lot longer to get my joints oiled up and I didn’t have that kind of time this am. Tomorrow evening 6 should be better
It was 100 in Denver 5 days ago. The lack of humidity helps, but that is still hot as shit. It comes and goes
it is astounding how slow some of my runs can be when I wake up early and start running with 15-20 minutes after waking.
Got a road bike the cross train broz Feel like I’ve been missing out not cross training. Seems like it can really make your legs stronger which would make you a better/tougher runner
Gawd, the idea of running in Denver or Fort Collins sound orgasmic Are you my boomer father? so does everybody in this thread ice?
I drink a cup or half cup before every morning run with sugar and milk. Need that caffeine. Related question, how do you shit before a run without coffee?
Ran in the 60s this morning for the first time since, idk, May? Pretty humid but nice to have a change in weather. Low on Saturday is 76 so that's gonna be awful.
I thought it was 80 degrees so tried to go on my normal 6 mile M/W/F run at noon since I overslept. Got about 5 miles before I called someone to come pick me up. Apparently it was 97 degrees real feel.
One of the good and bad things about the Peloton is that when it gets too hot it makes it easier to just hop on that and not go out to run. I skip my runs too much because of that but at leas i get a workout in. Without it I’d be forced to wake up early and get out there.
Got home last night and extended hour by hour had Saturday morning at 79, even before the sun was up. Said screw that and decided to run 16 today instead of the scheduled 8. Really happy I did. Was warm but not completely miserable. Will do the 8 tomorrow.
Shooting for 6 miles tomorrow AM. At 5am we’re predicted to be at 73 already. And I’m sure it will be humid.
Gotta run 10 miles tomorrow but gf will get out to run first I'm sure and she won't be done till like 7:45 AM (gotta stay home w/ the kids). Sunrise at 6:37 AM and it'll be about 83 F at 8AM so it's gonna be hell. If I'm lucky it'll be super cloudy maybe even some rain. Also it's 10pm and I'm drinking beer so yeah. Gonna be a fun one. With that said I'm motivated about hitting double digit mileage for the first time since... MAY 10, 2019 holy fuck how has it been so long
I'd like to do my first 10K in forever and probably only my 2nd tomorrow and I'm having a Bartles and Jaymes.
