It took me awhile to warm up to ECBP but it’s better than Larceny BP

I wonder how much an empty bottle would be

 

Batches definitely have some variance and I could think of a few that would be a better/worse first bottle of ecbp.

 

Saw ECBP at a store for 60(usually see it for 70) yesterday. Not sure which batch, but I may go back to pick it up.

 

why is Peerless Rye priced at $90-$100. Its a 2 year rye. Fancy bottle?

True story. Three years ago I promised my coworkers a couple of bottles of Lot B. I picked them up from Continental for $400 apiece. That is how I know that guy.

I decided to take a sip when I got home in advance of giving it to my employees. I thought it was gross and that it was a fake. I then had an employee who claimed to know Pappy also say it wasn’t good. In retrospect, I think I just had no idea that older Lot B, which I had aerated for a few years is just 1000 times better, and I had not really developed a taste for bourbon yet. In addition, she really has no clue either.

I went back to continental and we tasted it together. He said this is what it tastes like, but he wanted to do the right thing so he allowed me to trade it for a bottle of Al Young (which I also didn’t know what it was). I kept one bottle of the Lot B. That is how I currently have what remains of the Al Young bottle I have. That has also gotten so much better with age.

 

Any of you guys in states where you can get your hands on Smoke wagon? Willing to trade $ or bottles, just can’t get it here

 

That was the price here forever, now it’s $70-$90 if anyone even has it. Sucks

 

It’s delicious. But absolutely overpriced.

 

Same with the bourbon; it’s really good but lacking age is noticeable. Plus it’s too much $$$.

 

Which ones are you looking for?

 

Literally any of them other than the small batch. Desert Jewel, Uncut, straight bourbon, Private Barrel (especially these).

I got a private barrel LV pick through an Atlanta bourbon group and it’s fantastic, so I’ve been trying to hunt down any others I can get.

 

Alright. I’ll see what they have at my store tomorrow when I go in. Not going to find desert jewel. It’s discontinued and going for 300+ secondary already

Sounds good. I know they don’t have any new store picks in. They had a bunch in the fall that I grabbed.

 

They still don’t distribute anywhere near GA. I only got the one pick bc an Atlanta group had a dude literally drive to Las Vegas and back with the entire barrel.

 

If you see any I’d love an uncut unfiltered, small batch and straight. I’d been looking at some 3 pack combos but they sold out.

 

It’s real good but needs to be $40 or $45. Can’t justify it being only $5-10 cheaper than ECBP

I have 3 B520, a A919, B919 and C919. Not a fan of the A919

 

A919 was my least favorite.

 

Also has Wild Turkey Rare Breed dried up anywhere else besides Atlanta? Finally found a bottle today but have gone to half a dozen stores and none had any

Bought one when I first was really getting into bourbon. It’s good, very easy drink but I’ll never buy another at its current price point.

 

I am a scotch guy but I enjoy a good bourbon.

best quality for the price here is bulleit imo. 35 bucks is alright for that bottle. I also like woodford but at 55$ I will buy a low level scotch instead of a woodford.

There was big drama around Mattingly/Bourbon 30 in the big secondary groups several years back, BUT everybody I’ve talked to that has gone personally has really enjoyed it and had nothing but positive things to say.

 

same. seems to have been smoothed over and Mattingly is sourcing good mgp distillate

 

Tankard Red is really fucking good. It didn’t get the best reviews when I looked it up, but I really enjoy it.

 

What’s difference between Tankara Red and US SiB?

 

It definitely tastes different. Next time I take it out I will compare. It’s aged for 8 years versus SB which is 6.
