They teased a return of the cleaner on BTE, people who didn’t know Omega pre AEW don’t seem to car for him, I think a return to the cleaner would be a great move.
This week, AEW did 70,000 in men 18-34 (down 20% from last week), NXT did 6,000 in men 18-34 (down 87.2 percent from last week). AEW did 52,000 in women 18-34 while NXT did 29,000 (down 12.1 percent). 6,000 men 18-34 is horrendous
Maybe Cornette is onto something about the old grumpy Cornette fans watching those shows so they can complain about them with him
Ratings wise though, NXT was coming off a PPV level show back to a normal weekly show. Didn't AEW run some special hyped show again this week that ran two of their biggest stars in title matches? Edited to add I didn't watch NXT this week and since have seen they had a title match this week too. Didn't know that
Motor City Machine Guns are back in Impact. Plus they signed Gallows and Anderson. Impact has a nice little roster these days. I may have to start watching.
Surprised they didn’t have like a fake eyeball rolling around on the ground next to Rey also, that’s a prime way to spread the Rona Rollins
cannot WAIT for "Seth Rollins vomits" to be a reaction gif. Gonna get so much mileage out of it whenever Arkansas Football season happens again.
I haven’t been watching weekly but saw from Reys eye thing on. What a cluster fuck. The only thing good that might come from this is OSW will have some solid videos in like 20 years making fun of this shit.
Look Rey.... I don't know if you'll get a chance to watch this but I hope you do..... Fantastic stuff.
Anyone listen to the Gallows and Anderson podcast/interview from the other day? Wasn’t a “shoot” the level of Moxley but was still pretty solid. Can definitely tell they regret re-signing. And they talked about some possible AEW/NJPW angles that were discussed if they hadn’t signed with WWE again.
I think his take is pretty spot on... WWE loves to book themselves into these ridiculous spots. Last PPV was the "greatest wrestling match ever" and this time the "eye for eye" I guess in a sense it worked because it got this thread active in response to the outcome. But it's a no win situation. I thought those guys wrestled a really good match. I enjoyed the Swamp match... I'm very much a fan of Bray so just about anything he does is for me. I loved using Alexa as a call back to what began to humanize Brawn. Also a lot of the action in ring was good and entertaining. but the finishes largely sucked and ultimately that is the last memory and what will be judged. Don't understand the need to not just have clean finishes.
Raw did 1.6mm viewers this week, and the Orton v Big Show match drew the worst 18-49 demo numbers in the history of the show. I wonder what AEW's numbers would look like if they ran on Monday night. There seem to be a fair number of people who gave up Raw and/or Smackdown to watch AEW, while still watching NXT (sometimes live, sometimes after it airs, flip-flopping between the two). Right now they're doing about 700-800k. Raw is doing about 1.5mm-1.8mm. I have a hunch AEW's numbers would be close to a million and Raw's close to 1.3mm-1.5mm. Raw would still win, but it'd be close.
At this point, I don't know how many people actively look forward to Raw, or have it on because they watch wrestling on Monday nights like they've done for the past 30 years. I fall in the latter, and my sleep score tends to be the best on Monday nights. If AEW moved to Mondays, their ratings might explode.
You all are nuts if you think AEW would run close to Raw head to head. They can't even consistently beat WWE third brand. The wrestling people in this thread like isn't the same wrestling that draws higher ratings. I don't think AEW would do any better on Monday, probably similar. Don't think Raw ratings would be effected much.
