Frankly, it’s not a bad idea. Supposed to be nice tomorrow so maybe I will. Maybe bring a yeti cup with me and have a little taste on the way home
First thing I do with a new bottle when I get home. Don’t care if it’s 9am, have to open and take a sip for science and stuff.
Had to get my haircut today and the big store is by the salon, so I stopped just to see if anything new was on the shelf of to get an EC rye. Still had the 4R OESK, so grabbed another of those. They had a knob creek store pick, 9 yr for $50. I passed on it for the time being but may get it one day. I won’t be back that direction for a while, so maybe they’ll have it still or maybe they won’t. Thoughts on the 9 yr?
Baseballman86 grabbed that bottle of Barrel Rye #3. Can't speak to how it tastes buy my car smells great. Heat melted the adhesive and top popped off and it emptied in the back of my car.
Ughhh man that’s the worst. I had that happen once before and now I’ll bring them inside with me at work if I find something on my lunch break.
I just opened my Michter's 10 for opening day and when I opened it the top came off and left the cork still in the bottle. So I had to delicately wine cork it out without getting any cork in the bourbon. Now I've cut the top off of the cork and glued it to the bottle top. Hopefully it works out ok. That being said the bourbon is extraordinary. I can see what you mean pperc by it having a short finish, but the rest is really incredible. So far tonight McKenna 10-> Michter's 10-> OF 1910
Learned the hard way. I’ve learned to keep it upright in my rear seat pocket. That way if it pops, the liquor stays upright lol
Stopped by the store today and my bottle of Weller 12 is coming in next week. Post raffle they released some other items so got another Weller SR and a Yamizaki 12 year. He has a lead on some old fitz he is going to text me if he gets it.
I didn’t ask but assume so on the Old Fitz. He hasn’t gotten allocated an M20, could be awhile since they are pretty rare.
Just got a pour of beaten biscuits. Worth $22 for a pour, absolutely not. But that’s a damn fine bottle, really enjoyed it.
Bourbon is expensive down here in Aruba. Though they do have Blantons Gold for $199 and Elmer T Lee for a casual $299
Still haven’t been able to drink bourbon for almost three weeks. Everything still tastes bitter and spicy to me. I can drink other alcohol without issue. I don’t have COVID, but this sucks. I’m in Delaware and prices here are great, because there is no tax. Bought 4 bottles of McKenna at $49, 4 bottles of Dickel BiB at $40, and 6 bottles of Hancock at $40. I also picked up a MMSR and a ECBP C919. Haven’t seen any real premium stuff, but for whatever reason I see Bardstown in every special case. Anyone have any experience with it?
If you see a Bardstown Prisoner please grab it for me! I just like Prisoner wine and want to try it, can't get my hands on one
Where in Delaware? If it’s around Newark/Wilmington, go to State Line Liquors just over the border in Maryland. I used to stock up on mid level stuff there for years.
My parents owned a small house in Bethany. I spent every summer down there growing up. There are a few decent liquor stores down 26 in Ocean View if you want to waste a few hours. Your best bet for a good score is probably scouring 113 though.
Goddamn I can't even get Hancock in Ohio, very jealous! If FedEx weren't such a mess lately, I'd see if you could ship me a few bottles.
I’m in front of the store now. I’ll pick up a few more. Worst case I’ll sell for double one secondary.
Late catching up with this thread but if you're buying Hancock's in bulk I'd gladly buy one off of you
Yeah I'm willing to risk it to get a couple, haha. Maybe UPS can make it happen without breaking our shit.
It’s weird. I’ve never seen it In NY or even heard of it, and it is literally the special bottle in every display here.
