Seb going to racing point will be interesting. That car is currently probably illegal but I bet F1 will allow them to finish the year like Ferrari did with that illegal engine. No question he’s an improvement over what they currently have.

Was having a discussion with my roommate, who do you think has more wins this year, Hamilton or the field? I think Bottas would stand a chance and I'd expect him to be on the podium each race but based on these first few races, I think I'd take Hamilton. FYI- this is my first year really watching it so maybe Hamilton and/or Mercedes isn't strong on some of the upcoming tracks. I have no idea.
Between this and you making me a millionaire with my $20 payment to you for investing, I think I might love you.
Agreed. Just to piss off Max a Lando win and the memes would be out of control. I’d also enjoy a Perez win for the awkwardness
This is a good topic. Other than the big 3 (Lewis, Bottas, Max) who are the top 3 you'd like to see win this year in order? I'd go.... 1. George Russell - Because it would be one crazy ass race if it resulted in a Williams car winning. Also because I'm a fan of his. 2. Romain Grosjean - Because USA team and not Magnussen just because he's always come off as an asshole to me. 3. Lando - To really drive home the point to Ferrari that they picked the inferior driver from McLaren. Also he'd go crazy.
1. Sainz 2. LeClerc - won't happen, but if it did would mean that there is a competitive car in tfd field 3. Alonso
True At this point I'm just holding out hope that the new rules and eventually car, will even things up
Mercedes dominated the pure speed circuit to start the season. Nobody is wining a race that isn’t Mercedes powered. With that said I’ll take Hamilton over the field for wins. Guys I would like to see win... 1) Seb at one of the two Italian races. 2) Lando 3) Charles
Perez tested positive for covid and will be out this weekend https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/...ting-positive-for.4MLhBq01mPizIDrg3jrWXJ.html
I wonder if moving forward they won’t allow the guys to freely go wherever between races like they had before.
Gimme a win for Checco Albion Seb in Italy, or whatever the last race year of the year is. I’d love to see a podium for a Williams or Hass car. Especially Williams, I think the world would be thrilled for them.
That’s pretty irresponsible from Perez... I guess teams better have more then one driver on speed dial to fill in. I think they run back to back weekends in England so he may miss both races?
Does he live in Mexico? Aka did he go back there. I know basically everyone else lives in Monaco, and they all went back there for the break. I think they’ll put the lid on that moving forward
Oh I don’t blame him at all! I just know that he’s got a family and stuff, and didn’t know if he lived in Mexico when they aren’t racing
I had no clue Nico was stepping in for Checco I’m not a big fan of the pink merc, but this weekend I’m cheering for him to make his podium
Kinda feeling like a short season is just fine. With Ferrari going back to its 2018 engine nobody is getting close to the Mercedes. next year will be no different either. kinda depressing. Guess we can enjoy the midfield battle since it’s very competitive.
Merc out here like if the Patriots were to play CFB. Just complete domination in every aspect. They are crazy impressive but crazy boring which is exactly how they want it. The only thing that would make that team interesting would be to put Max behind the wheel of a Merc opposite Lewis and see which one breaks the speed of sound first I guess. Meanwhile Lando beating Sainz again.
On a different note, one thing that I really like about F1 and its culture, people, and style is how pragmatic everyone is. Maybe it's just more of a Euro thing compared to our culture over here but ever since I started following it a couple years ago I've found the pragmatism refreshing. You hardly ever hear competitors tell it like it is over here. In F1, drivers and even team principals will be like, yeah we need something weird to happen in order to win. The other guys are just faster and our car sucks right now.
With Mclaren going to Merc power I really think they might be in that top 2/3 next year. With Danny Ric joining Lando they should have a one two driver punch in a car that can compete for championships
They still will be a year behind Merc. At this point I’m looking forward to 2022 with all new specs. We could see just about anything happening.
