Been focusing on the weight lifting program but I semi-injured my shoulder. Nothing serious but it is quite uncomfortable. As a result I went back to the bike. I broke my 20 min PR and 30 min PR on the same week. Both were beaten by 10 points or so which isn't a huge jump but it still felt great.
I forget who does it kinda of often but someone forgets about it every now and then. Suddenly they'll just yell out "and back it off" or something similar as if they forgot they had to do it. Might have been Alex when he's going full hype man.
It's always when they get into some shitty story that no one cares to hear anyway. Changing subjects, anyone been doing Dennis Morton's reset series? Combines 30 min ride with 30 min yoga. Not too intense and good for recovery days. Love these classes.
I've never done any of the yoga but Denis is in my top 3. My boss recently got the bike and she was like "who is the annoying guy who lip syncs everything? Ugh so obnoxious". I almost quit. Almost.
been wanting to do it. Was wondering how they were. The only strictly recovery ride I’ve seen is the 20 min Robin ride. After 3-4 days that ride does wonders for me. How are those set up? Do you go straight from bike to the mat? Is it specific ride to yoga?
Yes. He has companion classes on the same day designed to go bike to mat. If you search "recovery" in the classes you will find a lot more than the Robin one. There is a 30 min new years day recovery ride I really like. Think it's haimby.
thanks I found a.bunch more. Quads and calves are humming today so I’ll probably do one of those and foam rolling. Oh and I forget who mentioned Jess Simms for strength and yeah she is good.
Does anyone else notice how inconsistent the output reading on the screen can be at times? I will raise my resistance 5-8 points and the output often time barely changes despite my effort/pedal stroke stays the same. Makes no sense to me.
Not Peloton, but Lululemon announced today they are purchasing the Mirror for $500M. It is essentially a Peloton inspired fitness equipment, that is mounted on the wall and aimed at yoga and pilates. I am curious if this starts an explosion of M&A activity within the space.
How the hell is mirror worth that much? I never saw the appeal of it just even in comparison to old fitness DVDs.
No idea had the same initial thought. Seems like an insane valuation. I get Lulu can broaden the appeal, just seems like too much of an overlap with what Peloton is doing with their app.
I would start off with some beginner or advanced beginner if you have done cycling before. Help a ton, especially ones that Wilpers teaches.
It gets easier, friend. Just queue up robins tabata program starting on Monday after the long holiday weekend. You'll be there in no time.
I did the full beginners program to the T when I started and I thought that was really helpful. I think it’s 6 weeks long.
look into the Programs. Mastering cycling is good for beginners and those new to peloton since you sample rides and instructors
I am on a 130+ week streak. Again best fitness (mental and physical) purchase I’ve ever made. Sleep meditation is so clutch. I have to get back into my yoga groove too.
I've gotten into a groove of no matter how bad I feel at least doing a recovery ride. Always feel 100% better after.
I cheat and keep my streaks going by doing a recovery yoga (basically stretching on the floor) or meditations which is just sitting and listening. Both are great for my mental health but I feel like I am cheating.
I did that a couple times in my last long stretch but staying at home during this virus has given me an opportunity to literally workout every day.
Okay so call me whatever you want but sometimes Peloton gets me in all the feels. I have certain issues I don’t like to talk about too much. I get on the bike to self medicate that’s why you guys will see me take 5-6 classes a day. Anyway today was one such day/ride. The All For One More ride had me in the feels at end. I don’t always need the rah-rah but today I needed it and was great. Highly recommend doing all 3 rides, 10 minute warm up and cool down and 45 minute ride.
Did my first ride today after getting the bike yesterday afternoon. Setup and activation couldn't be easier. Definitely lost some endurance by not doing a spin class over the last 4 months, or heavy cardio other than a couple mile run every week or so. Excited to build it up over time and keep getting better though.
Think I read those classes aren’t the challenge. Can do any class taught by them. But I am riding with Emma and Kendall too.
you have to do any class by each instructor in your “team”. What I meant is I am planning to do one class (6) by each instructor tomorrow do complete the week’s challenge in one day. I’ll do a warm up with Jenn , a 30 min class with Emma, cool down with Kendall. I’ll do stretch class with Mat and with AW or Tucker. And a strength class with whomever out of AW or CT that I have left. I will be about 1 hour workout.
Did this weeks challenge today. 1. 5 minute pre run stretch with AW. 2. 10 minute arms and shoulders with CT. 3. 30 min 80s rock ride with Emma. 4. 10 min cool down with Kendall. 5-6. 5 minute post ride stretches with Matt and Jenn.
I did 5/6. Where are you tracking progress? The pelethon link on programs only shows a collection of 10 random classes by the assigned instructors. Didn't do any those specific ones and can't find a way to track progress. Doesn't appear in challenges tab.
Here is the info page. I think they keep track of what you do and you’ll get the badge at the end of the week. I just wrote down what I did today I am not actually keeping track anywhere. You have to have the hashtag of whatever team you picked. I didn’t do any of the suggested workouts. https://pelothon2020.onepeloton.com/
