I agreed with you, than thought who? Is there any position prospects who really excite aside from Green and Tork?
Maybe a pitcher, knowing Boyd is gonna start on the first game though. Paredes, but he’s been out. You’re absolutely right though. I think early on I was hoping we’d use this season as an excuse to bring some young guys up earlier than normal.
I think we we will see Mize in 10 days. Skubal will be up by end of August. I would love to see Paredes get some playing time since our other options at 3rd suck
Only 3 hits tonight. But we scored 9 runs off some A ball pitcher who was the 9th pick in the draft on Tuesday
This pitcher on the Reds is throwing straight gas. We are not scoring at all. edit right after I post that we score lol.
Think about how stacked the Twins are on offense, that they didn’t really have a need for him. Sano bats 8th for him. hopefully he gets off to hot start and we trade him
We honestly don’t. Our “ace” is a guy with a career 5.00 ERA, who is a #4 or #5 on most teams. Hopefully Turnbull is decent, and turns into reliable arm.
Is there a worse announcing duo than Morris and Shep. Morris has already mentioned about 4 times that the Japanese guy on the Reds reminds him of Ichiro.
Morris is struggling. So bad I think he's either drunk or had a stroke. And Shepherd is a terrible announcer.
Jesus, Morris just said, "ducks on the pond," and Shep responded with, "stay thirsty." What the fuck is happening.
I saw on Twitter that the speed of which Cron's monster HR left the bat yesterday was faster than any ball that left the bat of a Tiger the entire last season. Those type of stats don't normally register with me, but that kind of blew my mind. He had a nice game today too.
Cron hitting well against RHP is a good sign, hopefully. He was really bad against RHP last year, and has historically been much better v. LHP over his career. He was hurt last year, which maybe explained some of those issues being as big as they were (160 wRC+ v. LHP, 78 wRC+ v. RHP) Schoop is at least getting some hits, as well, which is nice to see him get some results to start the season given his issues doing that over the last few years.
why? he's already holding 95 as a starter and has multiple pitches. back end rotation would seem to be appropriate ...
Command is the question. He has the stuff to start, and holds it deep into starts. But if command doesn't improve as a starter, it may out of the pen where he could be better. Doesn't matter now because we're throwing guys like Nova out there. But down the road, if enough of the prospects hit, maybe they can afford to let him shove out of the pen where his ceiling might be higher.
i kinda thought command was a bigger negative out of your late inning relievers. and his pitch mix wouldn't play up as much unless he's a multi inning guy. but yeah he could just get forced out by virtue of the prospects ...
