He's a train wreck. The hype has always outpaced his production. At what point do we admit this is who he is?
Through 254 career games he has a .246/.277/.408 slash line. Woof. These are the type of hitters you put in the bottom of the lineup but his hype/speed/potential keeps him at the top. He is a good player but for those of us holding out hope that he would turn into Lindor, I think we can move on. He's going to be a 3.0-5.0 WAR player who plays very good defense and swings and misses a shit ton.
I think today is the last day, so calling up tomorrow is saving the year of service time. I sure hope these guys are ready...
Well, it's Keuchel vs Bubic for the Royals home opener on July 31, 2020. Just like we all knew it would be back in spring training.
Bubic not as impressive as Singer but that’s to be expected. Was obviously nervous to start but settled in nice and made some good pitches. Kid is thicc. Hung that ball to Engle but he’s got a future.
And what’s the deal with Singer? They’ll “send him down” for the last 4 Games of the year to buy an extra year?
For the first time this year (10 games) we had a pitcher pitch 6 innings. 95 was the last time it took a staff that long (post strike stretching pitchers back out)
It's nice to see our bullpen not be a complete firework factory / grain elevator combination though... A 3.53 ERA in almost 54 innings is a nice improvement, so far.
This pitching staff will be great in 2ish years. Hopefully the new ownership group buys a few bats because we don’t have any coming up.
his last AB there at creighton was also a HR so maybe he should hang around in omaha for a while during 2021
There's only a couple of "elite" college bats who would be worth the pick around where the Royals are likely picking. J.Fabian (OF) Florida M. McLain (SS) UCLA A. Del Castillo (C) Miami A. Binelas (3rd) Louisville C. Cowser (OF) S.H St There are a lot of talented HS kids & college arms mocked in the first round like usual.
DM would just trade for more light hitting middle of diamond fast guys. We need to get lucky with guys developing
I think Witt will be very good. Then maybe at least one of Lee, Isbel, Pratto, Matias, Melendez pans out. yeah that leaves 7 holes in the lineup, but hey..
Don't want any desperation trades. They're a bad team. Its a short season so who cares.Just keeping adding pieces. Top two picks better be college guys who can rake.
I actually have some faith that in a few years if all the arms pan out and we need 2 or 3 or 7 bats that Sherman and crew would be ok going out and getting them. No faith that DM would ID the right ones to get though.
I think we could take a look at some batters who had mild success in 2016 and a catastrophic injury in 2017 and guess who DM ends up targeting
I keep hoping they hit the lottery in the draft bc zero confidence they can/will trade for the bats they need.
I've got greater than zero confidence. A few years ago they did go out and trade an aging cyborg arm for their current 2nd best hitter.
