I am putting 5 aside for my daughter to sell. You can grab one. Two others are spoken for I believe. I’ve never seen it this cheap and without tax it is literally a steal at $40.
bought one of those on Monday night, the store I bought it from here had a small sample bottle so they let me sample it before I bought it - I thought it was delicious
Anyone else in Atlanta get in on the Mega Package drop yesterday? That was neat. They dropped WFP, EHT SiB, and Blantons store picks. I got up and left in the middle of a meeting and sprinted over there
Haha how'd you pull that off? Make up some emergency or do they know how serious you take bourbon that your not going to miss that opportunity?
I got all 3. The pricing wasn't MSRP but still a no brainer for store picks IMO. WFP was $89 EHT was $99 (seen these SPs go for $400ish on secondary so I'll probably flip this one since I have a few regular SiB) Blantons was $84
Made a day trip out to Cooperstown this weekend and grabbed a couple of goodies. 30% off for doing a tour of the distillery was a nice incentive.
Just picked this up. Anybody had one of these store picks? Baseballman86 I know you're a big fan of Barrell, so I'm sure you've picked this one up.
Their store picks are amazing. Bought one at a local store on a whim and have gone back to buy three more over the last year. Will be opening up one of the ones I have on my shelf this weekend.
Yes I didn’t love that one when I opened it. Been a few months so may be time to revisit. This seems to matter more for the higher proof picks.
Reading a bourbon description and underneath the mashbill and ABV is the statement “a PG of 25.4”. Any clue what that means? Google is no help except to suggest propylene glycol, a flavor additive for fireball, but this is a single barrel straight bourbon. My understanding is straight bourbon can’t have anything but water added?
I drank NYGator ’s WT revival sampler, and now I’m keeping the night of quality bourbon rolling with a glass of a Mellow Corn. Yep. Mellow Corn.
I've seen PG mean proof gallon, but 25.4 doesn't make sense. A 750ml bottle is 25.4oz, maybe it has to do with that?
https://ultrapure-usa.com/distillate-program-signature-spirits/ Is it a barrel proof? I don’t know what the metrics mean and I’m tired from thinking but found a metric.
So I messaged Fred minnick figuring he’d know, sure enough it’s proof gallons. I double checked and it works out, they list bottle count too. 10 barrels, all same age, highest was PG over 28 and 115 bottles, lowest was a PG of 2 and 8 bottles from the whole barrel. Separate story, but Fred says these guys are ripping off Dave Pickerell. https://www.pickebourbon.com/MasterPickeBottle?number=7
Sorry, I missed this somehow. Yep, I’m a huge fan of all their stuff and that one is no different. If you like barrel proof stuff, you’ll like that one
yes both. Sagacity is good, not as good as the zin cask. I like 2008 better than 2007, but 2004 is still my favorite. 2008 is more rum, less bourbon, less bite than 2007
My honey hole has been clutch the last 2 Fridays. Last week he slipped me an old fitz 9 for $93 and today an Elmer T for $39.99. Also got a Shenks - never had it but I thought I remembered it being highly regarded by pperc
