Getting sick of guys with no future in the organization like Scoop and Cron hurting our draft position.
Last two nights from the bullpen: 10 innings 0 R 2 H 0 BB 9 K Only base runner allowed in the last eight innings was on Cron's drop pop up last night, which was immediately turned into an out at 1B. Where has this been for the last 15 years?
This team has had 13 hitters this season play, all with 5 or more AB. 3 are still hitless and 6 have averages under .150. hitting .206 as a team with a .289 obp Our starters in 6 games have given up 8 HR and 18 runs in 25.2 ip. Our staff era is 5.93 It's a miracle this team is 4-2
We can be horrible and still have mediocre draft position. In such a short season, a streak of good fortune is.... unfortunate?
We had a similar start to last season where we won some close games in spite of awful hitting, Greene racked up a bunch of saves, and then we got slaughtered the rest of the way. Don't think we'll be quite as bad the rest of the way, but the underlying performance behind the four wins doesn't inspire much confidence.
Also, it's unfortunate that we're being stupid and Mize isn't up yet. Would be cool to see Singer v. Mize rather than Nova.
How is Singer in the MLB and Faedo still hasn’t hit AAA when they were both drafted 18th 2 years apart?
Not much confidence in the present, but the bullpen and some individual performances provide some hope for the future. Most of this lineup and starting rotation won't be around in 2 years, but Turnbull, Reyes, Niko and JaCoby probably will be even if Reyes and JaCoby are reserve OFs and Turnbull is a 5th starter or in a 'pen. I'll also give Fulmer a pass on his first start.
Winning games against arguably a bottom 5 MLB team in KC by 1 run really shouldn’t confuse the media that this team is still trash
Our open spot in rotation is Sunday. Have they said if we're doing a bullpen game again or any chance we could see Mize on Sunday?
And on cue give up a run first inning on what would have probably been a routine ground out to short. Bigger problem though is two of first three hitters made hard contact. Looks like another rough night ahead for SP
I'm not sure what the purpose of keeping Jordy Mercer on the roster is if they're going to play Harold Castro at SS. Castro doesn't have the arm to play on the left side of the IF.
Morris acting like Singer tried to hit Maybin on purpose. They pretty much said Jacoby was hit intentionally the other day too.
Jacoby said after the game that the Royals throw high and inside to the Tigers. No idea how true it is but he was pissed after the game.
Sucks because Stewart was allegedly hitting really well in the games leading up to the season. And, while those games were against shitty Tigers' pitching, KC pitching isn't any better.
I thought Candelario would be good. And he got off to a nice start for us, too, back in 2018. He's just completely tanked since then and it's such a waste.
So we are 4-3 after 7. Figured we’d go 2-2 vs Royals before season even started. And probably 1-2 vs Reds, so we are really only one game off from where we were expected to be. You’d have to think MLB alters draft order for 2021 too, and doesn’t base it off of this season.
My favorite Tigers' regular season game of all time. This game also included a Verlander no-hit bid into the 8th and him threatening to drill Aybar for bunting to end it.
