He’s not a winger and we keep playing him wide. Outside of when he was playing and got hurt vs Everton I don’t think we’ve seen him go regularly and in the right position.
"It's, perhaps, the greatest comeback that Anfield has ever seen." Just you wait, just you wait!* *Sang in the tone of Lin Manuel Miranda as Hamilton
Unless there is a too good to be true deal, I take Jurgen and other reliable sources at their words - not much is going to happen this summer. Lord knows we need cover at LB and now have to have another CB. With Origi, Minamino, Brewster available, I just don’t see us signing a forward in this covid window based on what the club have said and what the must haves are.
I just don't get the rewriting of history on Lovren. He was mostly shit for 6 years. People are giving him these eulogies he absolutely doesn't deserve. He had that one goal against Dortmund and he and Salah seemed to get along. Thats basically it. He was a part of the some of the worst Liverpool defenses in the past two decades. I just don't get it at all.
Do you want everyone to shit on him as he leaves? "Glad you're gone you fucking bum!" I think everyone is just being classy.
i must have missed all the teary eyed send offs for Alberto Moreno and every other non-Lucas leiva player over the last decade.
Lallana got one. I thought Moreno and Sturridge both had the same kind of treatment. Hard to remember because last year feels like a decade ago.
I feel similarly about Lallana except Klopp seemed to view him as an absolute integral part of the team. Lallana didn't actively hurt Liverpool as much as Lovren did.
With the recent success it makes it much easier to remember the few good moments and laugh at all the bad ones. He seemed well liked in the dressing room and was celebrating harder than anyone after the big wins, even when he didn't see the field. I'll try to remember him fondly.
Like seeing all the Liverpool connections in this playoff game with Dhanda, Canos, and of course Brewster
Not that there’s a whole lot of them out there but find it interesting the options to backup Firmino are more ST than CF like Firmino. Brewster seems to be a goal scorer but didn’t have any assists in league
That is the hope for Minamino. We don’t have any real wingers as backups unless you wanted to count the boy wonder Harvey Elliott.
I think Taki deserves a full season in the team and the usual acclimation period we have seen most players need to Klopps system. Klopp really hasn’t missed on fitting a player into the system. That said, based on what we saw in the games against Salzburg and his work for us, I wonder if his best role is as a second striker or a false 9/advanced 10 in a 4-2-3-1. If that’s the case, Klopps system doesn’t really have a place for that, certainly not with the way Bobby covers those roles while also playing a traditional 9 as well.
Frankly I hope we evolve systems in the month off we’re gonna have in training. We need to start winning games by more than 1 goal.
