Some of the jankiest animations I’ve ever seen in a game like PS3 level. The menus are clunky the combat is repetitive. The world is boring. Just overall a terribly designed game but the “difficulty is a feature” crowd loves it so who am I to judge
Seems like you thought about it but idk. I certainly disagree with everything you say here but you do you
let me tell you guys the beauty of all souls games, ok no bullshit time-wasting narration, cutscenes, or conversations. the story is minimal and 95% in world building. i never ever have to figure out what the skip cutscene button is because they dont waste my time with such nonsense. its just gameplay and nothing but that. bloodborne specifically is a fantastically designed world that oozes character. the game tricks you into thinking its victorian horror when, in reality, its eldritch horror and it blends the two flawlessly. are the menus clunky? sure, but you can solve that by being less poor and putting an ssd in your ps4. is the frame rate ass? also sure. its awful. but the same is true for 95% of console games. does it, in some ways, resemble a ps3 game? of fucking course, it was very early ps4. you shouldnt expect anything else. people who dont like it are likely so bad at the game they try to play with lock-on, which is both hilarious and foolish.
I’m so bad at the game I play it with lock on. and the game looked damn solid back in 2015. Frame rate definitely deserves poop slung at it but that improved with updates. The pain of blight town on 360 prepared me for such horrors
Let me explain the souls games. Are they bad and poorly designed? Absolutely. But also you suck at the game and I like them so it’s good.
talk about janky animations. i cant count the number of times i was thrown by a bear that was already dead or clearly didnt have a grip on my leg.
I just enjoy the tension and the tactics of the game. Big fan of Boss Fights and From designs boss battles as well or better than anyone ever. I get most people want a story to latch on to but I like playing games that make me wanna play more and I think that’s why From is as popular as they are. Minimalist story, focus on world building and atmosphere and give you a fun game to play. Definitely not for everyone but it does appeal to a few of us
Sounds like Irush couldn't get beyond Father Gascoigne. If he played Sekiro I would guess he was one of those getting angry with the Chained Ogre.
Not one for linear levels. Incredibly hard. Was my first introduction to any sort of souls type game. I’d probably try it again, but the frustration that sat in trying to play that was unreal. You would think my patience was that of a 5 year old.
If I did that, what would be the point of playing it? I’m not gonna half ass something. So I said fuck it and quit all together lol
no its not. old yarnham should be approached by sprinting straight to the cleric beast to get the first insight so you can level.
oh yes, i remember. here we are raiding and suddenly you go silent. *two hours later* "sorry guys, i was on the phone"
you’d have to have knowledge of the level layout for that to workout. Running past enemies is more an advanced tactic
false. if i watch someone play something i never play it myself. no point. 99% of the games i play cannot be "beaten"
First Souls type of game I’ve ever played so this probably has a lot to do with it. - wasn’t a fan of the setting/story - not a fan of linear levels really - obviously a decent learning curve - just doesn’t seem like a game that interests me when I said it’s an awful game I’m being a bit outlandish, I know it’s received amazing reviews and it’s considered one of the best for its genre, but the style is just not for me personally.
It’s seems for the most part wrt Soulsborne that your first is your favorite. Never played Demon Souls and am very excited to play the remake. Hopefully they keep all the brutal world tendency elements in play
Dark Souls technically was the first one I played. I didn't get to play and beat demon souls till much later.
I will likely never beat Bloodborne. I tapped out on Blood-Starved Beast after absolutely fisting Father Gascoigne. It is a lovingly crafted title that I plainly do not enjoy. The endorphins that come from beating a boss are real but I do not enjoy the lack of guidance or story. I don’t have time to research how to fight things with so many weapons and various mechanics. If you’re into that, I’m happy for you. They got my money and I hope they keep creating great games for those of you that enjoy that.
