Of all the times I've been to Staples Center for Laker games, concerts, Kings games, etc. I never expected I'd be there for something like today. I'm sure you guys watched so no need to rehash what happened, seeing that many NBA legends in the same place was surreal. When MJ said a piece of him died when Kobe died, I felt that 100%. There will never be another.
Everything about the memorial was remarkable. Perfect speakers and Vanessa was amazing to pull off a 20 minute eulogy. Considering she's pretty much never spoken more than a couple sentences in public in the last 20 years, that took some great courage to be in front of every one like that. Probably millions watching online and otherwise
Caruso plus 20 off the bench. Rondo -17. I don’t like +/- except when it supports my argument that Rondo sucks.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/pa...roached-los-angeles-lakers-season-differently Read that -- very cool to see how this situation has solidified after Magic resigned.
Caruso should def get more burn, but Rondo as like a 9th or 10th man isn’t a bad look. He’ll actually try once the playoffs start, and it’ll make sense why they wasted a roster spot on his regular season apathetic bullshit.
RIP kobe I know you saw me painting my house withmy paint brush. I ain't finished yet, but you should know I'm working on it. #gravepraying
AD had such a good look for the win. I thought they might be able to catch Milwaukee for #1 overall. Loss doesn’t really matter for #1 in the west.
add TMB hipsters to this one too, nobody gave a fuck about watching Tim Duncan outside of Texas and the Virgin Islands
Duncan was an all time great and I don't feel the need to put him down like the TD backers do against Kobe. They were both great but Kobe was better.
The age of advanced stats has completely killed my enthusiasm for barber shop talk with just about anyone wrt NBA basketball. I absolutely adore stats and have since I was a child but the idea of using numbers to completely overule your eyes is absolutely the most annoying thing ever. I mentioned once on this board that I thought Kobe was a top 5 all time player and was drug for a page and a half at least. Was legit mind blown that it was a controversial opinion. numbers are nice but there’s things that they don’t measure. Things Jordan had, things Kobe had. I trust my eyes more than anything.
The awkward fan videos made me feel normal and that we were not in a bubble. I should figure out how to add that technology to my place so I can feel like I am at my regular sports bar.
I know the #1 seed is locked up and all but this doesn't even look like a WCF team, its just AD, Lebron and a bunch of JAGs that shoots 5-10 threes a game at anywhere from 15-28%.
3 point shooters initiating contact on prayer attempts and getting rewarded for it is near the absolute top of my NBA pet peeves, at least look like an actual fucking shot
seeing Dame deal with his dislocated finger reminds me of this: like LeBron said I think about him every day. RIP.
Got swept by San Antonio in 2013. I’ve lived back in LA for 5 years and we have sucked. I guess it became normal with all of the rebuilding with Lonzo, Ingram and Deangelo.
