My dad lives in south Texas and had quadruple bypass surgery in late February. All he does outside of the house is go for walks to get his heart stronger and drive to doctor’s appointments. I’m sure this is a sentiment that’s been stated many times here, but people who don’t wear masks because “freedoms” are ridiculous. Give a shit about others if not yourself. And hopefully, if you are susceptible to complications of the virus, you are in a position to have the bare minimum of contact with others.
People who refuse to wear masks are selfish human gutter trash. Let me just endanger everyone around me for no fucking reason at all
We don't have mandatory masks in school. If some little dickhead says one wrong word to my daughter about her wearing one, I'll lose my entire shit. Already had a crazy eyed mom comment that it was good they weren't required because masks cause psychological damage. Fuck everything right now.
People against mandatory mask requirements are idiots but the fact remains that we shouldn’t have mandatory requirements because they shouldn’t be necessary. People should have willingly worn masks to respect the people around them. Our society is all about me me me now. Facebook and social media in general has made that even worse. Fuck all the anti-mask pieces of shit.
People are and have always been self interested. They'll get together on the big stuff sometimes but there's always a small group that won't do a thing unless you make them do a thing. That's been true through the course of recorded human history.
Not to pick on you RavenNole but there was an anti-mask league in 1918 for a perfect apples to apples comparison.
I can almost give people during that time a bit more leeway when so little was known about viral replication and probably the population being more uneducated as a whole. That being said, germ theory and the idea of vaccination was something well understood by then.
Go through that twitter thread Redav linked. Time is a flat circle. Now, I don't disagree that we know more now than they knew then but my point is that humans are generally self interested animals and we're no different today than we've ever been. It just seems like we're different for one of a couple reasons 1) we can see it through increased global communication and 2) if you don't know history. For every time someone claims we're worse now than before there's probably something in very very very recent (in the grand scheme of humanity) human history that is either the same or far worse.
Tried to connect the dots with facemasks and child trafficking Wearing a mask---can't identify abducter---child gets aubducted---Epstein?---Bill Clinton knew Epstein---KILLARY---LIBERALS WANT TO KILL OUR CHILDREN---ABORTION and now Abortion is tied with wearing a mask, new GOP ultra talking point
SIAP but Ohio is now stopping the sale of alcohol, at bars and restaurants, at 10pm. Our society is so dumb and try to be funny, "oh the rona only attacks after 10" Or, hear me out, people get looser as the night goes on, and become lax on safety precautions.
It’s gonna be really interesting to find out who is benefiting financially from the blatant campaign to make hydroxychloroquine a savior.
Welp, my neighbors both tested positive this week. The husband was getting over heart surgery and is now back in ICU in critical condition, on a vent. Outlook not good. Wife, so far, is asymptomatic. Two points to make. Both were/are huge trumpettes who are in total denial. He came home from open heart surgery, and the whole family was told they needed to be tested due to his weakened state. All refused, so here we are a month later. I don't wish him bad because he was a good guy who would help with anything you needed. He was just under educated and fell into the same void as 95% of the people around me. Second point is, I live a tiny town...maybe 1500 people, so this shit is about to go from "dem big cities" to hitting home for a lot of these deniers. The beaches are over packed with people from some of the hardest hit states and I've been trying to tell locals (most of whom work on the beaches) that common sense says it's being brought back into the tiny towns, but the view here is "it's only in the city, nothing to worry about". Afraid that's gonna change quickly and I can only see it being worse because of the lack of actual medical care available to them. Hospitals here are pretty shitty without an actual problem.
Oh shit, I'm not worried anymore, what a relief. I want to go to concerts and sporting events again, giddyup!
the entire #Atlanta Braves thread can tell you that gin as a known idiot so we shoulda smashed the panic button as soon as we saw that
Tampa airport greeting party for trump. No social distancing or mask wearing. Glad Florida isn’t a hotspot. Oh wait.......
I'm not good at guesstimating but what is that, 200 people? Somebody use that model to see what the % chance someone in that Tampa crowd has covid. *the model breaks*
