Uhh yea I lost it when I saw him. I was laughing so hard. I had to explain to my wife how he'd try to hustle people for his JUCO updates on Rivals and became a running joke. She didn't understand.

It’s amazing how Dior’s father can’t admit his faults while approaching his kid to mend a relationship, instead of having his whole family trying to do so

RJ's family background is fascinating to me. Texas kid that looks like he belongs on Friday Night Lights. Has a grandma who writes feminist fantasy literature. This is awesome

Whats wrong with what I said? I just find it interesting that his background is diverse. I mean his grandparents do seem VERY out there. But I guess I would be interested in asking them super random questions.

***Nevermind I take back that post. Holy shit this family has a fucked up background.

Like I mentioned earlier anyone who played high school football in the Bay Area in the 90s know Coach Beam he’s got a good as a rep as it gets in the Bay Area.....skyline the high school he coached once he left they instantly became absolutely awful after being a power during his reign

That segment in episode 3 really bummed me out. What a terrible human being. Dior is lucky to have Beam trying to help guide him through an obviously very sensitive situation and not some slapdick.

Love Beam, love Dior. I wish more kids had Dior's fight in them.

Dior's dad is a garbage human being. There is really no use for people like that man in this world.

Nu'u seems like a good kid but he needs to get his shit together.

This was a great pick; Beam is such a different guy than Stephens and Brown.

Really wish they would've kept up with football and gone to Lackawanna for a season. I mostly know about it for being a recent PSU pipeline but their HC has been there for a long time and had some talent go through (Bryant McKinnie, most notably).

Really liked this season. From the city, the coach, to the players. All massive upgrades. Only thing I wish they had was more star power on big name recruits that fizzled/fucked up, but I don’t think they give out scholarships so that would be hard

Still the same whiny players that can’t accurately assess their own talent. Every one of them thinks they should be at Bama but none of them accept the fact they’re not disciplined or committed enough to their goal to get there. It’s always someone else’s fault. They think showing up and pouting is commitment. Same shit, different year.

    But I watch.

Yes there was that but at least this year some of the kids like Dior worked their butts off trying to better themselves or at least weren’t total shit bags who lie, steal, and just smoke weed all day.
Right after it ended my Netflix immediately went to the second season of the Indy coach and the first line is shut up and listen fuckers, we are hear to get D1 schollies and that’s all you should care about. Yeah good luck getting them to play as a team with that mind set.

What the coach told Nu’u seems to apply to a lot of these kids. “You love playing football but don’t love being a college football player.”

Glad to see some of these kids move on to bigger stuff. The no scholarships, find your own housing, etc makes it infinitely tougher on the kids than the previous schools.

I thought the 6-3 corner was insufferable. Gets toasted repeatedly, can’t tackle and lines up offside but it’s always someone else’s fault. Even blamed the official for not telling him he was in the neutral zone

I thought Dior worked the hardest and I liked him throughout...but he’s under 5-9 with some wiggle to him...just not that special physically to expect a major look. And while he comes off as unselfish when asked to play QB, the truth is he had no choice because that was the only way for him to showcase his ability since they had no one to throw it to him anyway. There are very few diamonds in the rough anymore. If you’re a player you get to where you should be. That’s pretty much the rule.

I can agree with this, classic example of believing his own hype. He probably worked hard before, got his offers and then that’s all he cared about. He did admit it though when he said he loved all the attention and I don’t blame him. He just needed to keep his mouth shut.

I did like when they showed his brother get smoked by the Hawaii WR. Oregon St. Might be giving up lots of deep balls.

Yes he talked a lot of trash and all but c’mon he’s 19 and having fun out there.....he got beat a few times and had some really nice plays and picks too........and insufferable ? His dad got smoked and killed when he was 16 and he drove 4 hours round trip everyday from Stockton to Oakland to play ball I don’t think that makes you a shit bag at all
